Coronado Boys Basketball 2012-2013 Capsule

Head coach: Jeff Kaufman, third season

2011-12 record: 13-9 (11-3 Southwest)

Returning lettermen (starters): Seven (one)

Top players: F Jordan Willis (Sr.), G Justice Augmon (Sr.), G Charlie Teixeira (Sr.), C Raasheed Westbrook (Sr.), G Ricardo Robinson (Jr.)

Outlook: The Cougars have some holes to fill with only one starter back, but have plenty of talent.

Willis averaged 7.0 points per game last season, and Coronado should also benefit from the transfer of Michael Thornton from Green Valley.

"The Cougars will transition their style to uptempo pressure basketball," Kaufman said. "Returners Jordan Willis and Justice Augmon provide versatility and athleticism, and 7-footer Raasheed Westbrook will be a staple under the basket.

"Our team has bought into the philosophy that we are going to leave everything on the court, every game. We will prepare for every contest like it is the playoffs."
