Returning lettermen (starters): Four (three)

Top players: G Averie Prosise (Sr.), F Brett Smith (Jr.), F Quinton Love (Jr.), C Derrikk Griffith (Jr.), C A.J. Nelson (Sr.), G Chris Hutchins (Sr.)

Outlook: With three starters back, the Cougars should be in a much better position to have success each night in what might be one of the most competitive leagues in the state.

"We took our lumps last year, but our boys are ready for the challenge," Reisdorph said. "We hope to be in the mix for a playoff spot this year.

"We have four bigs that will cause havoc inside on both sides of the ball. We believe we can be the best rebounding team in the league, which will help us get more opportunities to score."

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
