Class 4A
1. Clark (2-0, Last week 1) — The Chargers started their season with two blowout wins.
2. Bishop Gorman (3-1, LW 2) — The Gaels went 3-1 at the Wild West Shootout in Reno
3. Foothill (2-0, LW 4) — The Falcons started the year by beating two Sunset Region opponents.
4. Coronado (2-0, LW 3) — Freshman Jaden Hardy looks like the real deal for the Cougars.
5. Canyon Springs (4-0, LW 6) — The Pioneers have taken care of business to start the year.
6. Faith Lutheran (3-0, LW 5) — The Crusaders are undefeated with two league games next week.
7. Durango (1-1, LW 7) — The Trailblazers won a nail-biter at Las Vegas High in their season-opener.
8. Desert Oasis (4-2, LW 10) — The Diamondbacks won the Southwest Rotary Classic in Arizona.
9. Liberty (1-2, LW 8) — The Patriots played well at the Wild West Shootout in Reno.
10. Arbor View (5-1, LW unranked) — The Aggies could be a pleasant surprise in the Northwest League.
Class 3A
1. Cheyenne (3-2, LW 2) — The Desert Shields looked good at the Legacy Tip-Off Classic.
2. Desert Pines (0-1, LW 1) — Last year’s state champions dropped their season-opener to Basic.
3. Sunrise Mountain (3-1, LW 3) — The Miners made the playoffs for the first time ever last year, and are off to a strong start in 2017.
4. Boulder City (5-1, LW unranked) — The Eagles look like a contender early on.
5. Chaparral (1-1, LW 5) — The Cowboys’ next three games are against league opponents.
Class 2A
1. Democracy Prep (6-0, LW 1) — The Blue Knights opened eyes across the valley by winning the Legacy Tip-Off Classic.
2. Adelson School (2-1, LW 3) — The surprise run to the league title fueled a good start for the Lions.
3. The Meadows (2-2, LW 2) — The Mustangs beat their southern opponents in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.
4. Needles (7-0, LW unranked) — An undefeated start slides the Mustangs into the top five.
5. Lake Mead (2-3, LW 4) — The Eagles fared well at their own tournament last weekend.
Class 1A
1. Pahranagat Valley (3-1, LW 1) — The Panthers are riding a three-game winning streak.
2. Spring Mountain (2-2, LW 2) — The Golden Eagles picked up a blowout win this week.
3. Beatty (1-0, LW 3) — The Hornets won their first game of the season.
4. Word of Life (1-1, LW 4) — The Eagles play Class 4A Bonanza on Thursday.
5. Liberty Baptist (2-0, LW unranked) — The Knights played their way into the rankings with two wins.
