ROUNDUP: Agassi Prep routs White Pine in boys basketball

DeShawn Battle and Aerontay Shepherd combined to score 15 points in the first quarter Saturday as Agassi Prep’s boys basketball team bolted to an 11-point lead after one quarter en route to a 75-54 win over visiting White Pine.

The Stars locked up the No. 2 seed for the Class 2A Southern League playoffs, which begin Friday at Desert Oasis.

Shepherd led Agassi Prep, which led 42-20 at halftime, with 19 points. Jacoby Whitehead added 14 points, Battle 12 and Quincy Brown 10 for the Stars.

Michael Johnson led the Bobcats with 19 points. Wade Wilkinson scored 15 and Johnny Holloway 10 for White Pine.

Calvary Chapel 82, West Wendover 66 — At Calvary Chapel, Joel Feigler scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Lions past the Wolverines.

Dario Rahming added 21 points, Juliene Mejia 14 points and Tyler Moore 13 points and 10 rebounds for Calvary Chapel.

Brandon Hoston led West Wendover with 27 points. Teammate Drew Arrien added 13.

Lincoln County 75, The Meadows 71 —
At The Meadows, the Lynx outlasted the host Mustangs to earn the No. 3 seed in the 2A Southern League.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
