ROUNDUP: Del Sol tops Rancho in overtime shootout

Chris Sanders scored 32 points for Del Sol, which overcame an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit Friday to defeat host Rancho 110-106 in overtime in boys basketball.

Rancho led 74-66 entering the fourth quarter, but Del Sol rallied to tie the score at 93 at the end of regulation.

Jeff Coon added 15 points for the Dragons, who drained nine 3-pointers.

Byron Bynum led Rancho with 42 points, including making five of his team’s 10 3-pointers.

James Cammack added 23 points for the Rams, who committed several costly fouls down the stretch.

Centennial 56, Eldorado 53 — At Eldorado, Ben Vozzola hit five 3-pointers en route to scoring 21 points for the Bulldogs, who held off a late Sundevils charge to get the win.

Beau Scarlett scored 13 points and Matt Holley and Drew Staker 10 each for Centennial.

Mitrell Clark scored a game-high 26 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback for Eldorado. Marcus Moreland added 10 points for the Sundevils.

Arbor View 87, Bonanza 65 — At Arbor VIew, Kenny Mack had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Maiscei Grier had 19 points to lead the Aggies over the Bengals.

Pierson Heath added 13 points for Arbor View, which went 29-32 from the free-throw line.

Andrew Whiting led Bonanza with 16 points. Arin Matt added 12 points.

Valley 43, Mojave 41 — At Valley, Khristian Kirkwood scored 17 points to help the Vikings get past the Rattlers.

Prince Marshall and Anthony Marshall each scored 11 points to pace Mojave, which rallied late with a key 3-pointer by Demarge Boyd.

Silverado 63, Chaparral 41 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks’ 24 made free throws were the difference in their win over the Cowboys.

Wade Collie scored 24 points and had seven rebounds for Silverado, and teammate Ali Sabra added 17 points.

Jerome Young led Chaparral with 10 points.

Las Vegas 58, Sierra Vista 55 — At Las Vegas, Tony Eackles scored 24 points to help the Wildcats rally for a victory over the Lions.

George Sanico scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter to help Las Vegas take the lead in the final minute.

Tyree Anderson and Tanner Chauncey helped the Wildcats seal it with key free throws down the stretch.

Canyon Springs 63, Foothill 54 — At Foothill, Michael Thompson scored 19 points to lead the Pioneers to a win over the Falcons.

Gage Huff scored 15 points to pace Foothill, which led early before Canyon Springs took over in the second quarter.

Desert Pines 70, Cherry Creek (Colo.) 68 — At Desert Pines, Pierre Jackson scored 17 points for the host Jaguars, who made free throws down the stretch to hold off Cherry Creek.

Reggie Shaw added 15 points and Tyler Lawson 11 for Desert Pines.

Ian Ganmie led Cherry Creek with 19 points.

Snow Canyon (Utah) 71, Cimarron-Memorial 58 — At St. George, Utah, Leyland Miller, a 7-foot-1-inch monster, scored 20 points to help Snow Canyon down the Spartans.

Kevin Oleaibe led Cimarron with 22 points, and Dale Puckett and Dillon Brummett each added 12 for the Spartans. Puckett, who at 6-2 was matched up against Miller, also grabbed 16 rebounds.

Pahrump Valley 71, Horizon Academy 31 — At Pahrump Valley, Marvin Weekly scored 17 points for the host Trojans, who bolted to a 27-9 first-quarter lead and opened its season with an easy win.

Mike Amburgey added 10 points for Pahrump Valley.

Moapa Valley 50, Desert Hills (Utah) 48 — At St. George, Utah, Max Jenkins scored eight of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pirates rally from a 35-31 deficit to top Desert Hills.

Shaun Hilton added 12 points and 12 rebounds for Moapa Valley.

University (Calif.) 84, Faith Lutheran 73 — At Faith Lutheran, Christian Scott and Ben Kwan scored 22 points each in University’s win over Faith Lutheran.

University’s Jad Itani and Hunter Curtis each scored 12 points.

Chase Sanders scored 30 points for the Crusaders to lead all scorers.

Needles 69, Fredonia (Ariz.) 43 — At Williams, Ariz., Needles advanced to the semifinals with an easy win over Fredonia.

The Mustangs will play the tournament host, Williams, at 11 a.m. Saturday. The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
