ROUNDUP: Desert Oasis tops Western in boys basketball

Cameron Mich’l had 22 points and eight rebounds Wednesday as Desert Oasis’ boys basketball team kept alive its playoff hopes by defeating visiting Western, 70-54.

Anthony Lianzo added 21 points for the Diamondbacks, who moved within one game of the Warriors for the final playoff spot in the Southwest League. Zack Bobenhausen added 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Cameron Jefferson had 12 rebounds.

Johnnie Diggs and Melvin Washington each had 15 points to lead Western. Deion Harrell added 11 points.

Spring Valley 62, Clark 44 — At Clark, Corey Clement and Anton Stallworth combined for 27 points in the second half as Spring Valley overcame a 23-20 halftime deficit to beat the Chargers.

Clement led Spring Valley with 18 points, 14 of those in the second half. Esteban Gonzalez added 14 points. Stallworth scored all 13 of his points in the second half.

Rabbit Toler led Clark with 16 points, and teammate Isidro Garcia added 12 points.

Bonanza 59, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Bonanza, Andrew Whiting scored 18 points and Dasean Martin 13 as the Bengals coasted to an easy win over the Trojans.

John Grady contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds for Bonanza, which led by five at halftime and outscored Pahrump 23-7 in the third quarter.

Tyler True led Pahrump with eight points.

Tech 62, Boulder City 55 —
At Boulder City, Brandon Tiffany poured in 31 points for the Roadrunners, who scored all 10 of their points in overtime on free throws as they downed the Eagles.

Josh Sarabia added 12 points for Tech.

Jeremy Smith led Boulder City with 19 points. The Eagles only managed three points in overtime.

Findlay Prep 92, Foothill 58 — At Henderson International, Victor Rudd had 23 points and eight rebounds as the Pilots routed the Falcons.

Cory Joseph added 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Avery Bradley scored 20, and Godwin Okonji had 11 points and nine rebounds for Findlay.

Evan Roquemore had 14 points and Kadeem Minor 12 for Foothill.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
