ROUNDUP: Durango rallies past Bonanza in boys basketball

Marcus Falley and Dario Jokic combined to score 24 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as visiting Durango’s boys basketball team rallied from a six-point deficit after three quarters to beat Bonanza, 87-77.

Falley, who had 13 points in the fourth quarter, finished with 25. Jokic had 11 in the fourth quarter and finished with 22.

The Trailblazers made 15 of 16 free throws in the fourth quarter. Shawn Jones added 19 points for Durango.

John Grady led Bonanza with 20 points. Andrew Whiting added 13, and Jarrick Mitchell, Arin Matt and Julian Romero each had 10 for the Bengals.

Bishop Gorman 81, Clark 37 — At Clark, Anson Winder scored a game-high 22 points for the Gaels, who hit 14 3-pointers on their way to an easy victory over the Chargers. 

Taylor Spencer scored 17 points and Desi Allazetta 15 for Gorman.

Steven Dancy led Clark with 19 points.

Western 79, Spring Valley 73 — At Western, Bradley Cairo had 22 points and four assists to help the Warriors hold off the Grizzlies.

Dre Nash had 14 points and six assists and Johnnie Diggs 15 points and nine assists for Western.

Jesse Chippoletti had a game-high 22 points for Spring Valley. Tyler Lewis scored 14 points and Anthony Moore 10 for the Grizzles.

Desert Oasis 57, Pahrump Valley 43 — At Pahrump, Anthony Lianzo had 16 points and four steals to lead the Diamondbacks over the Trojans.

Cameron Jefferson added 10 points and 14 rebounds for Desert Oasis.

Marvin Weekly led Pahrump with 16 points.

Chaparral 53, Rancho 42 — At Chaparral, the Cowboys led 15-4 after the first quater and held on to defeat the Rams behind Jermaine Neal’s 14 points.

James Cammack scored 16 points for Rancho.

Canyon Springs 72, Valley 49 — At Valley, Michael Thompson and Adrian Snow each scored 17 points for the Pioneers, who bolted to a 16-2 lead en route to the win.

Johnquez Brooks scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Vikings, and Khristian Kirkwood added 15 points and 15 rebounds for Valley.

‘Four best teams’ vying for 5A boys basketball state title

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
