ROUNDUP: Jackson’s late flurry carries Desert Pines boys to road win

Desert Pines’ Pierre Jackson scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Jaguars rallied for a 76-69 road victory over Canyon Springs in boys basketball Monday.

Cliff Harrell added 15 points and Chris Perry and Daimar Harris had 10 each for Desert Pines, which outscored the Pioneers 29-19 in the fourth quarter.

Terence Stanley led Canyon Springs with 17 points. Michael Thompson (14), Antonio Snow (13) and Chris Willis (12) also scored in double figures.

Sierra Vista 72, Western 62 — At Sierra Vista, senior guard Quin Chow supplied 24 points, 11 assists and four steals to lead the Mountain Lions over the Warriors.

Amir Garrett had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Sierra Vista.

Johnnie Diggs led Western with 25 points and De’Andre Nash had 10.

Sierra Vista made only 2 of 10 free throws in the second quarter and fell behind 35-33 at halftime. But the Mountain Lions took control with a 23-14 edge in the third period.

Valley 77, Rancho 71 — At Rancho, four players scored in double figures to help the Vikings defeat the Rams.

Johnquez Brook scored a 21 points and Khristian Kirkwood had 16 for Valley which trailed 40-36 at halftime.

Bishop Gorman 60, Durango 51 — At Durango, John Loyd scored 17 points to lead the Gaels, who outscored the Trailblazers 24-11 on free throws.

Gorman made 24 of 42 attempts at the foul line, Durango 11 of 25.

Kylel Coleman added 12 points and Shabazz Muhammad 11 for the Gaels.

Marcus Falley led Durango with 15 points, and Dario Jokic had 11.

Spring Valley 63, Bonanza 56 — At Bonanza, Jesse Chippoletti scored 18 points to lead the Grizzlies past the Bengals.

Anton Stallworth added 16 points for Spring Valley, which held on despite shooting 7-for-22 from the free-throw line.

Bonanza’s Arin Matt led all scorers with 24 points. Andrew Whiting added 11.

Clark 62, Pahrump Valley 48 — At Clark, Isidro Garcia made four 3-pointers and scored 27 points as the Chargers defeated the Trojans.

Steven Dancy added 13 points and Rabbit Toler 12 for Clark, which led 41-25 at the half.

Pahrump’s Marvin Weekley scored 16 points and Tyler True added 11.

Eldorado 83, Las Vegas 65 — At Eldorado, Mitrell Clark compiled 32 points, seven assists, seven rebounds and five steals to carry the Sundevils past the Wildcats.

Charles White added 15 points, and Marcus Moreland had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Eldorado.

Tyree Anderson led Las Vegas with 18 points. Tony Eackles added 14 and George Sanico 13.
