ROUNDUP: Julian Franklin helps Gators pull away

Julian Franklin scored 11 of his game-high 20 points during the third quarter as Green Valley defeated visiting Faith Lutheran, 68-55, in boys basketball Monday.

Glenn Bewley added 11 points and David Franklin 10 for the Gators, who extended a 37-27 halftime lead to 59-40 after three quarters.

Brett Lubbe led the Crusaders with 19 points. Chase Saunders scored 13 and Greg Thomas 10.

Basic 50, Boulder City 47 — At Basic, Tyler Dobbins compiled 15 points, six assists and five steals to help the Wolves edge Boulder City.

Vince Carducci added 13 points for Basic.

Joey Western led the Eagles with 18 points, and Jeremy Smith had 14.

Mountain View 58, King’s School (Australia) 57 — At Mountain View, Cortland LeBoeuf scored 16 points, and the Saints held on to nip King’s School.

Mountain View led 58-55 before Jared Lewthwaite of King’s School made a jumper from just inside the 3-point line at the buzzer.

Justyn Anderson added 14 points and five steals, and Raymond Velarde 12 points for the Saints.

Lewthwaite led King’s School with 15 points.

Oasis Christian 50, Indian Springs 34 — At Indian Springs, Oasis Christian outscored the Thunderbirds 24-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Christian Dethmers led Oasis Christian with 22 points, and Tyler Harris had 10.

Junior Baker led Indian Springs with 11 points, and Brady Hughes and Patrick McClain each had 10.

The top four Class 5A boys basketball teams — Coronado, Liberty, Bishop Gorman and Arbor View — will play for the state title Thursday and Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
