Roundup: Kevin Legardy’s 40 points power Canyon Springs past Eldorado

Kevin Legardy scored 40 points and helped Canyon Springs’ boys basketball team stave off Eldorado for a 78-74 home victory on Friday night.

Mervin Soares had 21 points for Canyon Springs, which led 34-29 at halftime.

Kemo Bell led Eldorado with 21 points.

Clark 87, Sierra Vista 63 — At Sierra Vista, Trey Woodbury scored 19 points to lead the Chargers past the Mountain Lions.

Jalen Hill scored 17 points, Frankie Collins and Greg Foster each scored 12 points, and Antwon Jackson added 11 points for the Chargers, who outscored the Mountain Lions 26-11 in the second quarter.

David Howard scored 23 points to lead the Mountain Lions, and Calvin Richards added 15 points.

Bishop Gorman 84, Desert Oasis 67 — At Bishop Gorman, Isaiah Cottrell had 31 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks to help the Gaels take down the Diamondbacks.

Cottrell scored 23 of his points in the second half, in which the Gaels out-scored Desert Oasis 55-41 to pull away.

D.J. Howe had 11 points and 10 assists for the Gaels, and Jamal Bey had 16 points.

Jacob Heese had 18 points for the Diamondbacks, Kamari Burnside had 14 points, Felix Reeves had 12 points, and Nate Van scored 11.

Findlay Prep 50, Huntington Prep (W.Va.) 48 — At Dayton, Ohio, Bol Bol had 18 points to help the Pilots hold off the Irish in the Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational.

Reggie Chaney added 10 points for the Pilots, who made just 18 of 48 field-goal attempts.

Johnathan McGriff scored 14 points for Huntington Prep, which was just 20 for 67 from the field, including a dismal 3 for 22 on 3-pointers.

Boulder City 53, Moapa Valley 45 — At Overton, Billy Ferrance was 13 of 14 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles knock off the Pirates.

Those free throws were all of Ferrance’s points for the game, and teammate Karson Bailey scored 11. Boulder City trailed 24-21 at halftime.

Nathaniel Thompson scored 16 points for the Pirates, and Lucas Walker had 11 points.

Mojave 54, Elko 44 — At Mojave, Noah Sherrard made three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points in a win over the Indians.

Chris Jackson had 12 points, and John Harper and Isaiah Harper both scored 12 for the Rattlers.

Sean Klekas led Elko with 16 points.

Bonanza 77, Pahrump Valley 61 — At Pahrump, Chase Hafen scored a game-high 29 points to help the Bengals bury the Trojans.

Zioan Blakeney added 14 points for Bonanza, which led 39-29 at the break.

Antonio Fortin led Pahrump Valley with 25 points.

Chaparral 60, Virgin Valley 40 — At Chaparral, Elijah Briggs scored 18 points to lead the Cowboys past the Bulldogs.

Prineko Kolaker scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Cowboys, who opened the game with a 24-7 first-quarter run.

Will Barnum scored 10 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Las Vegas 61, Valley 35 — At Valley, Donovan Joyner scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats past the Vikings.

Mory Souhamoro scored 12 points, and Zach Matlock added 11 points for the Wildcats, who used a 24-6 third-quarter run to take control of the game.

Oscar Burns scored 11 points to lead the Vikings.

Tech 62, Sky Pointe 21 — At Tech, Jurelle Orbino scored 15 points as the Roadrunners stormed past the Eagles.

Miguel Pena scored 13 points, while Ryan Fisher added 12 for the Roadrunners, who outscored the Eagles 38-14 in the first half.

Nijel Murray scored 11 points to lead the Eagles.

Somerset-Losee 72, GV Christian 20 — At Somerset-Losee, Maxwell Lewis scored 25 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to lead the Lions in a rout of the Guardians.

Caevee Cruz added 21 points for the Lions, which started the game on a 16-2 first-quarter run.

Uriel Gutierrez scored seven points to lead the Guardians.

Innovations International 75, Aussie Travelers (Australia) 63 — At Innovations, Jordan Allison led the Ambassadors with 14 points in their win over the Aussie Travelers.

Justin Evans had 12 points for Innovations, and Jose Hernandez scored 10.

Democracy Prep 78, Lincoln County 30 — At Democracy Prep, Najeeb Muhammad had 22 points in the Blue Knights’ victory over the Lynx.

Daniel Plummer had 15 points, and Akeemis Williams scored 13.

Landen Smith and Kobe Walker each nine points for the Lynx.

Beatty 44, Liberty Baptist 37 — At Beatty, the Hornets beat the Knights.

Christian Ramirez had 16 points for the Knights, and Trevor Campbell scored 12.

Pahranagat Valley 51, Round Mountain 12 — At Round Mountain, the Panthers routed the Knights.

Calvary Chapel 43, Laughlin 21 — At Laughlin, the Lions defeated the Cougars.
