ROUNDUP: Legacy tops Cimarron-Memorial in boys basketball

Sam Johnson scored 16 points during a 27-6 third-quarter run Thursday and finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds as Legacy’s boys basketball team held off Cimarron-Memorial, 65-61.
The Spartans, who trailed 47-29 after three quarters, pulled within 63-61 with five seconds left. Legacy’s Ira Haywood made two free throws to seal the win.
Haywood and Delroy Gibbs each had 10 points for the Longhorns.
Kevin Olekaibe led Cimarron with 30 points, and teammate Brayden Quackenbush scored 14.
Centennial 66, Mojave 61 — At Mojave, Matt Holley scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs, who made 23 of 26 free throws to seal the win.
Drew Staker added 14 points, Anil Kundanani 12 and Beau Scarlett 11 for the Bulldogs.
Anthony Marshall and Kevin James (11 rebounds) scored 17 points each for Mojave. Prentice Marshall added 12 points.
Palo Verde 70, Shadow Ridge 45 — At Shadow Ridge, the Panthers had 12 players score and coasted to a rout of the host Mustangs.
Nick Hipwell had 12 points for Palo Verde, which got 10 points apiece from Bryce Cotton and Drew Topham.
Steve Leary had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead Shadow Ridge, which got 12 points from Ronnie Thomas.
Cheyenne 80, Arbor View 66 — At Arbor View, Demetric Williams scored 26 points for the Desert Shields, who broke out to a 28-17 first-quarter lead en route to the win.
Elijah Johnson added 19 points, Chris McCall 14 and J’Quon Wroten 10 for Cheyenne.
Darington Banks led the Aggies with 17 points. Maiscei Grier added 15 points and James Graham 10 for Arbor View.
Green Valley 102, Del Sol 85 — At Green Valley, Julian Franklin poured in 30 points for the Gators, who had 12 players score at least two points each in topping the century mark.
Demetrius Pittman added 18 points and Royce Alexander 10 for Green Valley, which led 32-15 after the first quarter.
Anthony Martinez led five double-figure scorers for the Dragons with 27 points. Jeff Coon added 18 points, Chris Sanders 14, Devonti Gilmore 12 and Durrell McDonald 11.
Coronado 50, Tech 35 — At Coronado, the Cougars controlled the game from the start and coasted behind 12 points and nine rebounds from Adam Schmitt.
Jamel Morgan added 10 points and 12 boards for Coronado, which led 27-16 at halftime.
Cornelius Coleman led Tech with nine points.
Foothill 49, Basic 37 — At Basic, Foothill had 11 players score and held off the Wolves.
Kadeem Minor led the Falcons with 10 points.
Vince Carducci led Basic with 13 points, and teammate John Polin added 10.
Western 81, Desert Oasis 54 — At Western, De’Andre Nash led five double-figure scorers with 18 points for the Warriors, who grabbed a 25-6 first-quarter lead and didn’t look back.
Johnnie Diggs added 17 points and seven assists for Western. Anterian Cannon scored 11 points and Deion Harrell and Bradley Cairo 10 each. Ehbert Talice added 12 rebounds and Melvin Washington 11 for the Warriors.
Cameron Mich’l led the Diamondbacks with 15 points, and teammate Cameron Jefferson scored 10.
Spring Valley 60, Clark 52 — At Spring Valley, Jesse Chippoletti scored 16 of his team-high 24 points in the second half to help the Grizzles down the Chargers.
Chippoletti went 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter. Corey Clement hit two clutch 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to finish with 10 points for Spring Valley.
Isidro Garcia led all scorers with 25 points for Clark, which was 18 of 20 from the free-throw line. Steven Dancy added 12 points and Rabbit Toler 11 for the Chargers.
Bonanza 75, Pahrump Valley 70 — At Pahrump, Arin Matt hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 28 points to lead the Bengals over the Trojans.
John Grady added 11 points and Dasean Martin 10 for Bonanza.
Marvin Weekly had 28 points to lead Pahrump. Alex Anderson added 16 points for the Trojans.
