ROUNDUP: Legacy tops Liberty in boys basketball
Sian Laine’s long runner at the buzzer Friday lifted host Legacy’s boys basketball team to a 44-42 come-from-behind win over Liberty.
The Longhorns trailed 42-40 before Sam Johnson made two free throws with 27 seconds to play.
Legacy rebounded a missed shot by the Patriots, setting the stage for Laine, who had only four points in the game.
Ira Haywood led Legacy with 12 points. Johnson, who also hit a half-court shot at the end of the second quarter, and Terrell Evans each scored 11 points for Liberty.
Milos Knezevic led the Patriots with 15 points.
Spring Valley 64, Western 63 — At Spring Valley, Esteban Gonzalez’s layup with four seconds left gave the Grizzlies a win over the Warriors.
Spring Valley trailed by eight points with about two minutes left. The Grizzlies outscored Western 20-13 in the fourth quarter.
Jesse Chippoletti had 20 points to lead the Grizzlies. Tyler Lewis had 15 points and Corey Clement 14 for Spring Valley.
De’Andre Nash led Western with 14 points. Bradley Cairo added 13 points and Melvin Washington 12 for the Warriors.
Bishop Gorman 70, Clark 46 — At Gorman, Xavier Grimble had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Gaels in their win over the Chargers.
Shabazz Muhammad scored 15 points and John Loyd 13 for Gorman.
Isidro Garcia and Rabbit Toler each scored 13 points and Steven Dancy 11 for Clark.
Desert Oasis 58, Pahrump Valley 38 — At Desert Oasis, Cameron Mich’l had 20 points and 11 rebounds to help lift the Diamondbacks over the Trojans.
Derek Adkins had 10 points and four steals for Desert Oasis, and teammate Cameron Jefferson had five points and 13 rebounds.
Marvin Weekly and Tyler True each scored 10 points for Pahrump.
Durango 69, Bonanza 56 — At Durango, Marcus Falley scored 17 of his team-high 24 points in the second quarter to lead the Trailblazers over the Bengals.
Durango’s Chrishawn Hopkins was 6-for-8 from the field for 13 points, and Shawn Jones finished 6-for-7 for 12 points for the Trailblazers.
Andrew Whiting had 17 points and Arin Matt 11 for Bonanza.
Cimarron-Memorial 54, Basic 37 — At Basic, the Spartans led 20-8 after one quarter and cruised to victory.
Dale Puckett led Cimarron with 21 points. Brayden Quackenbush added 13 points for the Spartans.
James Holmes scored 22 points for Basic.
Centennial 58, Green Valley 52 — At Green Valley, Matt Holley scored 21 points for the Bulldogs in their win against the Gators.
Centennial trailed 44-40 at the start of the fourth quarter but took advantage of 11 Green Valley turnovers.
Ben Vozzola scored 16 points for Centennial.
Glenn Bewley scored 12 points and David Franklin 11 for Green Valley.
Las Vegas 77, Shadow Ridge 68 — At Las Vegas, Tony Eackles scored 25 points to help the Wildcats beat the Mustangs.
Hassan Henderson added 15 points and Aamahd Franklin 13 for Las Vegas, which pulled away in the third quarter after taking a 30-26 lead into halftime.
Shadow Ridge’s Zach Hafen led all scorers with 31 points. Ray Singatary added 13 points for the Mustangs.
Palo Verde 77, Valley 52 — At Palo Verde, Moses Morgan scored 27 points for the Panthers in their win over the Vikings.
Andrew Topham scored 12 points for Palo Verde.
Chris Marshall led the Vikings with 12 points.
The Meadows 76, White Pine 67 — At The Meadows, Richard Martinez had 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Mustangs held off the Bobcats.
Max Newman scored 17 points to lead The Meadows. Garrett Gosse added 16 points and Nate Gord 11 for the Mustangs.
Wade Wilkinson led White Pine with 25 points, and teammate Dillon Neubauer added 13 points.
Agassi Prep 61, Mountain View 56 — At Agassi Prep, James Turner had eight of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Stars down the Saints.
Mountain View led 45-43 entering the final period.
DeShawn Battle and Jacoby Whitehead each added 12 points for Agassi Prep, and teammate Quincy Brown scored 10. Brown
grabbed 10 rebounds for the Stars. Turner and Dimitri Amos each added eight rebounds for Agassi Prep.
Mountain View’s Justyn Anderson led all scorers with 23 points. Cortland LeBoeuf added 20 points for the Saints.
Lincoln County 77, Calvary Chapel 58 — At Panaca, Dantley Walker drained five 3-pointers and scored all 30 of his points in the first three quarters to lead the Lynx past Calvary Chapel.
Eric Rippetoe added 16 points and Ivan Ortiz 12 for Lincoln County.
Dario Rahming led Calvary Chapel with 20 points. Tyler Moore added 15 points and Joel Feigler 11.
Needles 80, West Wendover 60 — At Needles, Stevie Kidd scored 14 of his team-high 22 points in the second quarter as the Mustangs defeated West Wendover.
Michael Hills scored 18 points for Needles, Anthony Ramos scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Darra Russell added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Henderson International 49, Lund 25 — At Henderson International, Clay Tormey had 15 points and five assists to help the Wolverines beat the Mustangs.
Danny Moerman added 12 points and seven rebounds for Henderson International, which took over in the second quarter after falling behind 9-7 in the first.
Spring Mountain 54, Round Mountain 41 — At Spring Mountain, Davonte Sandifer scored 26 points to lead the Grizzlies past the Knights.
Terrance Green added 10 points for Spring Mountain, which rallied after trailing 21-19 at halftime.
Will Sweeney led the Knights with 16 points, and teammate Joe Swoope scored 11.
Lake Mead 48, Pahranagat Valley 23 — At Lake Mead, Jeff Newton scored seven of his 19 points in the first quarter, helping the Eagles build a 15-3 lead on the way to defeating the Panthers.
Landon Littlefield added 10 points for the Eagles.
Tommy Williams led Pahranagat Valley with six points.
Tonopah 60, Sandy Valley 22 — At Tarkanian Middle School, Sergio Perez scored 18 points for the Muckers, who led 28-8 at halftime.
Denver Otteson added 11 points for Tonopah.
Billy Berkheimer led Sandy Valley with nine points.
Beatty 58, Indian Springs 53 — At Beatty, Jacob Sumpter and Anthony Regalado each scored 17 points down the Thunderbirds.
Junior Baker had 18 points and Patrick McClain 17 for Indian Springs.
