ROUNDUP: Liberty boys pull away down stretch, down Silverado

Liberty’s boys basketball team made 8 of 9 free throws in overtime Thursday to pull out a 60-54 home victory over Silverado in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Aaron Navitsky led Liberty with 20 points, and teammate Jeremy Lagasca added 10 points for the Patriots.
Silverado’s David Ware had 18 points, and teammate Ruben Jackson scored 17.
Silverado could have clinched the Southeast League’s final playoff berth with a victory. Instead, the Skyhawks finished tied with Basic to force a play-in game that will determine the league’s final playoff spot.
The game, which has not been announced, will be played either Saturday or Monday. The Sunrise Region playoffs begin Tuesday.
Green Valley 64, Del Sol 62 — At Del Sol, Michael Thornton scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Gators rallied to a win over the Dragons.
Keainnte Wilkins had 20 points and Earl Thompson 14 for Green Valley, which outscored Del Sol 19-10 in the fourth quarter.
David Day and Chris Marshall each had 11 points, and Tareg Omer added 10 points for the Dragons.
Foothill 55, Basic 42 — At Foothill, Augy French had 11 points to help the Falcons top the Wolves.
Foothill held Basic to one field goal in the second quarter, taking a 25-18 halftime advantage.
DeVonte Boyd led Basic with nine points.
Coronado 98, Tech 65 — At Tech, Michael Louder scored 18 points, and the Cougars used a 22-2 run to close out the third quarter and pull away from the Roadrunners.
Adam Schmitt added 16 points for Coronado, which clinched the Southeast League’s No. 1 seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs. Austin Nelson added 15 points, and Evan Kaufman came off the bench in the fourth quarter to sink three 3-pointers and score 11 points.
Michael Johnson paced Tech with 29 points. Bryan Catenza added 14 points for the Roadrunners.
GIRLS
Alena Evans had 24 points and 10 rebounds as Liberty’s girls completed a sweep of the Southeast League with a 60-33 win over visiting Silverado.
Jade Washington added 15 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Chanel Nacua had nine points and eight rebounds for the Patriots (23-2, 14-0 Southeast).
Green Valley 71, Del Sol 30 — At Del Sol, Maggie Manwarren scored 23 points, and the Gators raced to a 42-16 halftime lead on their way to an easy win.
Mackenzie Butler added 20 points for Green Valley, which secured the Southeast’s No. 3 seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs.
Melissa DeSantiago led the Dragons with eight points.
Foothill 50, Basic 42 — At Foothill, Cheryl Harless had 16 points to help the Falcons defeat the Wolves.
Kailai Brantner had 16 points for Basic, and teammate Kelsey Gunther scored 12.
