ROUNDUP: Muhammad helps Gorman boys slip past Colony

Shabazz Muhammad scored 29 points, including the go-ahead basket with just more than a minute to play, as Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team downed Colony (Calif.) 82-79 in Perris, Calif.
Taylor Spencer scored 20 points for the Gaels, who let a 51-36 halftime lead slip away before rallying for the win. Johnathan Loyd had 13 points and 11 assists, and Rosco Allen scored 10 points for Gorman.
Demetrius Counts led the Titans with 26 points.
The game was delayed for more than two hours and moved nearly 20 miles from its scheduled location of Riverside, Calif. when heavy rain caused a leak in the gym roof at Riverside.
Rancho 67, Agassi Prep 53 — At Agassi Prep, Kevin Plascencia scored 18 points, and the Rams took a  40-23 halftime lead en route to the win.
Antonio Boucher added 15 points and Kris Hall 10 for Rancho.
Dimitri Amos paced the Stars with 23 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots. Quincy Brown added 11 points and Curtis Watson 10 for Agassi Prep.
Virgin Valley 74, Lincoln County 70 — At Panaca, Cameron Jensen and Jason Wittwer each had 17 points to help Virgin Valley hold off the Lynx.
Austin Cloes added 14 points for the Bulldogs.
 
Dantley Walker had 19 points and 16 assists, and teammate Eric Rippetoe added 18 points and 17 rebounds for Lincoln County.
 
Bruce Condie and Chandler Katschke each scored 11 points, and Tyler Wadsworth had 10 for the Lynx.
GIRLS
Mount Miguel (Calif.) 79, Foothill 34 —
 At Bishop Gorman, Mount Miguel limited Foothill to one made field goal in three of the four quarters and cruised to the win.
Yvonne Neal led five Matadors in double figures with 22 points, helping Mount Miguel take a 38-14 halftime lead.
Bri Higgins had seven points for Foothill, which played its usual starters only sparingly.
Lincoln County 52, Virgin Valley 27 — At Panaca, Marissa Smerek led all scorers with 21 points, and the Lynx never looked back after taking a 15-5 first-quarter lead.
Melanie Florence added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Lincoln County.
Rachel Morris had 12 points for the Bulldogs.
