ROUNDUP: Muhammad helps Gorman boys to overtime win

Rashad Muhammad drained a game-tying 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in regulation Saturday and finished with 24 points to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team to a 72-60 overtime win over Orange Lutheran (Calif.) in the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, Calif.

Noah Robotham added 13 points and five assists, and Trey Kennedy scored 13 for the Gaels, who led 28-14 at the half.

Kendall Lauderdale had 17 points for the Lancers. Payton Banks added 11 points, and Rogers Printup scored 10 for Orange Lutheran.

Ocean View (Calif.) 88, Durango 68 — At Santa Ana, Calif., Tyler Burch had 24 points, and Dillon Reise scored 20 to lead the Seahawks by the Trailblazers in the Nike Extravaganza.

Kendall Small added 18 points, and Josh Mishler had 13 points for Ocean View, which led 54-35 at the half.

Tyler Watts paced Durango with 26 points. Davante Cooper and Paris Estrada each scored 12 for the Trailblazers.

Needles 49, Laughlin 47 — At Needles, Calif., Mason Cisneros and Wyatt Upshaw each had 11 points to help the Mustangs nip the Cougars.

Devin Truscott added 10 points for Needles.

Brett Smith had 14 points, and A.J. Nelson scored 13 for Laughlin, which had the ball with seven seconds left, but couldn’t get off a potential game-tying shot.

Pahranagat Valley 62, Tonopah 32 — At Tonopah, Austin Poulsen poured in 23 points, and the Panthers outscored the Muckers, 30-11 in the second half to earn the win.

Tyler Higbee added 16 points for Pahranagat Valley.

Spencer Littlefield paced the Muckers with 12 points.

GIRLS

Tonopah 45, Pahranagat Valley 40 — At Tonopah, Ashley Gray had 10 points and 22 rebounds to help the Muckers take over sole possession of first place in the Division IV Southern League with a win over the Panthers.

Deanna Van Poucke added 10 points and 19 rebounds, and Alli Friel had 16 points and seven offensive rebounds for Tonopah.

Traci Strong led Pahranagat Valley with 16 points, and teammate Bailee Hosier scored 14.

Needles 63, Laughlin 38 —
 At Needles, Calif., Abby Chandler tallied 20 points to help the Mustangs top the Cougars.

Kayla Hills had 16 points, and Lisa Hills scored 10 for Needles.

Diana Durazo led Laughlin with 18 points.
