ROUNDUP: Muhammad’s long-range shooting buoys Bishop Gorman boys in victory

Rashad Muhammad hit five 3-pointers and scored 23 points Saturday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team to a 58-46 win over visiting Ribet Academy (Calif.).

Noah Robotham added 14 points and six assists for the Gaels. Trey Kennedy had five assists and five steals, and Stephen Zimmerman had 15 rebounds and five blocked shots for Gorman.

Bono Zekan led Ribet with 20 points.

Legacy 75, Elko 67 — At Durango, Donavon Gray scored 18 points as the Longhorns outlasted the Indians.

Legacy got 14 points from Todd Murdock and 11 points from Benjie Harris, who went 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.

The Longhorns used a 10-0 run in the second quarter, highlighted by Harris’ buzzer-beating 3-pointer, to build a 36-23 halftime lead.

Nathan Klekas scored 22 points to lead the way for the Indians, and teammate Brian Pearson supplied 17 points.

Las Vegas 65, Cheyenne 62 —
At Durango, Aziz Leeks had 17 points and 15 rebounds to help the Wildcats hold off the Desert Shields.

Re’Kwon Smith contributed 17 points for Las Vegas, which got 13 points from Juwan Major.

The Wildcats overcame a 34-27 halftime deficit to recapture the lead for good at the 3:13 mark of the fourth quarter on Smith’s runner in the lane.

Juwan Washington’s 3-point shot from the corner with 1:15 remaining cut the Wildcats’ lead to 63-62, but two free throws from Leeks and Majors secured the win. 

Stephen Miller paced Cheyenne with 18 points, and Washington added 15 points.

Palo Verde 90, Spring Valley 50 — At Spring Valley, Eris Winder and Joey Randazzo each scored 20 points as the Panthers routed the Grizzlies.

Palo Verde outscored Spring Valley 34-10 in the third quarter to pull away.

Travis Gondrezick (11 points), Eli Edwards (11 points), Dominic Pramshafer (10 points) and Trayvail Toliver (10 points) also scored in double figures for the Panthers.

Dionte Humphrey paced Spring Valley with 13 points.

Moapa Valley 38, Pahrangat Valley 36 — At Overton, Andrew Huerta scored 10 points to help the Pirates hold off the Panthers.

Moapa Valley led by 10 before Pahranagat Valley made a run to make it close.

Tyler Higbee had 14 points, and Austin Poulsen scored 13 for the Panthers.

Calvary Chapel 60, Mountain View 56 —
At Mountain View, Drew Hammond had 17 points, and Zac Yates scored 16 to lead the Lions over the Saints.

T.J. Kissinger scored 19 points to lead Mountain View.

Lincoln County 76, Laughlin 46 — At Panaca, Ryan Rippetoe had 25 points and nine rebounds, and every player on the roster scored as the Lynx beat the Cougars.

Chandler Katschke added 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Dakota Cluff scored 12 for Lincoln County, which got six assists from Devyn Smith.

Averie Prosise led Laughlin with 14 points.
