ROUNDUP: Savoy, Chaparral boys surge into playoffs with win

Patrick Savoy had 20 points and nine rebounds Thursday to help Chaparral’s boys basketball team wrap up the Sunrise League’s No. 2 seed for the Southern Region playoffs with a 63-38 home win over Virgin Valley.
Robert Martinez added 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Jared Celestine scored 11 for the Cowboys, who outscored the Bulldogs 23-8 in the third quarter to take a 48-31 lead.
Garrett Leavitt led Virgin Valley with 15 points.
Cheyenne 75, Mojave 68 — At Cheyenne, Edward Shaw had 17 points, five steals and four assists, and the Desert Shields outscored the Rattlers 52-38 in the second half to secure the win.
Bryan Laws added 15 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots, and Jarrell Bell had 12 points, six steals and four assists for Cheyenne.
Malik Abbott led Mojave with 18 points. Darryl Adams added 12 points for the Rattlers.
Desert Pines 67, Boulder City 46 — At Desert Pines, Julian Jacobs had 14 points and 10 assists to power the Jaguars over the Eagles.
Jesse Martin added 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Donavin Wright scored 18 for Desert Pines.
Blake Worrall led Boulder City with 14 points, and teammate Kaleb Bailey scored 10.
Legacy 62, Bonanza 35 — At Bonanza, Donavon Gray had 14 points, and the Longhorns held the Bengals to 14 second-half points to earn the win.
Tim Jeffries added 13 points for Legacy.
Cameron Ladson scored 17 for Bonanza.
Cimarron-Memorial 91, Desert Oasis 67 — At Desert Oasis, Joe McKellar, Tyler Willinsky and Tony Harrison each had 12 points to lift the Spartans past the Diamondbacks.
Cimarron used a 51-27 burst in the middle two quarters to pull away.
Marvin Duty had 11 points, and Julian Rosario scored 10 for Desert Oasis.
Clark 79, Western 40 — At Clark, Sherron Wilson scored 19 points, and the Chargers raced to a 47-16 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Warriors.
Jordan Turner and Sir Washington each scored 13 for the Chargers.
Travis Dunn led Western with 15 points.
Sunrise Mountain 70, Tech 62 — At Tech, Shmarlio Tolliver registered 20 points, and teammate Zane Gibbs added 19 points to lead the Miners to a win over the Roadrunners.
Jason Ford supplied 12 points for Sunrise Mountain, which led 28-22 at halftime.
Josh West scored 31 points for Tech, which got 11 points from Tyler Walker.
Faith Lutheran 66, Pahrump Valley 38 — At Pahrump, Sam Stevens and D’Khari Hicks each had 13 points to lead the Crusaders by the Trojans.
Adam Brand and Dalton Beighley each had 10 points for Pahrump.
Calvary Chapel 82, Mountain View 72 — At Calvary Chapel, Drew Hammond poured in 32 points, and the Lions stormed back from a 20-point deficit in the third quarter to top the Saints in double overtime.
Quintin Hank had 18 points, and Zac Yates scored 11 for Calvary Chapel, which made 33 of 52 free throws.
Connor LeBoeuf led Mountain View with 16 points. Joseph Gueverra had 14 points, and Adonis Morris scored 11 for the Saints, who were 17 of 30 from the free-throw line.
