ROUNDUP: Spartan girls seize long-awaited playoff berth

Emily Cox scored 15 points Tuesday to help Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team clinch a playoff berth for the first time since the 2001-02 season with a 40-36 home win over Bonanza.

Kiana Carter added 10 points for the Spartans, who trailed 27-26 heading into the fourth quarter.

Trane’e Jenkins led the Bengals with 15 points.

Bishop Gorman 55, Legacy 32 — At Legacy, Raychel Stanley scored 18 points to help the Gaels clinch at least a share of the Southwest League title by downing the Longhorns.

Megan Jacobs had 12 points, and Tonishia Childress added 11 points for Gorman, which jumped to a 32-8 halftime advantage.

Tori Payne notched 15 points to lead Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 51, Clark 24 —
At Faith Lutheran, Julia Benko poured in 23 points as the Crusaders clinched the outright Sunset League title by topping the Chargers.

Taylor Hammer added nine points for Faith Lutheran, which led 20-6 at the half.

Bobbi Floyd and Ci’Quadya Belser each had six points for Clark.

Centennial 53, Desert Oasis 35 — At Centennial, Jada Brown had 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs past the Diamondbacks.

Breanna Workman had nine points for Centennial, which used a 17-5 third-quarter run to pull away.

Sammi Tso paced Desert Oasis with 11 points.

Chaparral 49, Desert Pines 47 — At Chaparral, Tichina Savoy hit the game-winning layup with 2.8 seconds left as the Cowboys nipped the Jaguars.

Unique Wilson had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Savoy finished with 12 points for Chaparral, which got 10 points from Marcia Hawkins.

Cydney Myles poured in 29 points for Desert Pines.

Sunrise Mountain 45, Moapa Valley 43 — At Overton, Ayla Diaz drove the length of the floor to hit the game-winning layup, lifting the Miners past the Pirates.

Brittany Veal scored 14 points, and Azia McBrown supplied 10 points for Sunrise Mountain, which trailed 23-20 at halftime.

Kimberly Lewis had 13 points, and Shelbie Gray scored 11 for Moapa Valley.

Boulder City 40, Virgin Valley 37 — At Mesquite, Whitney Barlow scored 16 points as the Eagles edged the Bulldogs.

Alyssa Ybarra and Mallory Bird each added eight points for Boulder City.

Abbie Barnard scored 11 points to lead Virgin Valley, which got 10 points from Nikki Arquette.

Mojave 28, Pahrump Valley 25 — At Mojave, Rayena Rael posted 11 points to help the Rattlers edge the Trojans.

Dennisha Atkins added seven points for Mojave.

Britney Noel and Inah Cunanan supplied eight points apiece to lead Pahrump.

Lake Mead 54, Mountain View 51 —
At Lake Mead, Taylor Badua-Kono fired in a 3-pointer as time expired, giving the Eagles the win over the Saints.

Badua-Kono finished with 17 points. Savanah Schmidt scored 11 points, and Taylor Vetter grabbed 17 rebounds for Lake Mead.

Rose Adkins scored 18 points, and teammate Kiley Murphy added 11 points for Mountain View.

Calvary Chapel 43, The Meadows 33 — At Calvary Chapel, Phallen Nelson had 19 points and 15 steals as the Lions defeated the Mustangs.

Lianne Reyes added 11 points for Calvary Chapel, which took control early and led 25-13 at halftime.

Delaney Gosse led The Meadows with 12 points.

Agassi Prep 42, Laughlin 33 — At Laughlin, Javoulaee Green scored 12 points to help the Stars defeat the Cougars.

Cassie Beggs led Laughlin with 10 points.

Pahranagat Valley 52, Adelson School 28 — At Adelson School, Traci Strong had 18 points to lead the Panthers by the Lions.

Brook Higbee added 10 points for Pahranagat Valley.

Camryn Armstrong had eight points for Adelson School.
