ROUNDUP: Teerlink’s trey gives Virgin Valley boys victory

Tyson Teerlink drained a 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds left Saturday to lift Virgin Valley’s boys basketball team to a 50-48 win over Carson in the Lowry Invitational at Winnemucca.

Garrett Leavitt had 18 points, and Dee Bowler scored 16 for the Bulldogs. Leavitt was named to the all-tournament team.

Tech 66, Yerington 38 — At Hawthorne, Josh West scored 12 straight points to start the second half as the Roadrunners topped the Lions in the Serpent Classic.

West finished with 16 points, and 12 players scored for Tech.

Wasatch (Utah) 68, Liberty 36 — At Liberty, Cody John had 17 points, and Wasatch used a 20-7 second-quarter run to build a 31-16 lead on its way to a win over the Patriots.

Jeremy Lontayao led Liberty with 18 points, five assists, three blocked shots and two steals.

Trinity 59, Sandy Valley 43 — At Innovations, Milos Babic scored 11 of his 26 points during a 26-3 fourth-quarter run that lifted the Thunder past the Sidewinders.

James Rau had 14 points, and Guillermo Solano added 10 points for Sandy Valley.

GIRLS

Bishop’s School (Calif.) 57, Liberty 38 — At La Jolla, Calif., Bishop’s School captured the seventh-place game of the La Jolla Sweet 16 Invitational.

Kealy Brown had 11 points and three assists to pace the Patriots, who got nine points and seven rebounds from Paris Strawther.
