Vegas Invitational: Chase Hafen drops 24 to lift Bonanza over Pahrump

Chase Hafen poured in 24 points Wednesday to help Bonanza’s boys basketball team to an 80-51 win over Pahrump Valley in the quarterfinals of the Vegas Invitational at Mountain View.
Kendall Burrell added 18 points for the Bengals, who used a 23-7 second-quarter run to grab a 38-27 halftime lead.
David Ogilivie scored 11 points, and Trent Savage added 10 for Bonanza, which will face St. Joseph (California) in a semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Buckley (California) and Chadwick School (California) will meet in the other semifinal.
Antonio Fortin and Grant Odegard each had 12 points to lead the Trojans, who got 10 points from Brayden Severt.
Mountain View 71, Army-Navy (Calif.) 68 — Tyrell Brooks poured in 36 points, and the Saints overcame a 45-33 halftime deficit to edge the Warriors.
Terrence Brooks added 24 points for Mountain View, which still trailed 57-52 entering the fourth quarter.
J.C. Canahuate pumped in 41 points for Army-Navy.
Adelson School 68, Chadwick School (Calif.) 62 — Miles Hagan and Alex Sefia led a balanced attack with 14 points apiece as the Lions topped the Dolphins.
Ore Inbar added 13 points, and Ben Elharrar scored 11 for Adelson, which also got 10 points from Dale Weiford.
Duke Lindsey paced Chadwick with 17 points.
The Meadows 66, Sky Pointe 45 — Kevin Riska paced four double-figure scorers with 12 points as the Mustangs topped the Eagles.
Parker Bucknam added 11 points, and Noah Klein and Allen Fridman each scored 10 for The Meadows, which led 20-6 after one quarter.
Treveonne Swift paced Sky Pointe with 18 points, and teammate Preston Davis scored 12.
Spring Mountain 71, Word of Life 60 — Shawn Shumpert scored 21 points, and Spring Mountain used a 26-10 second-quarter run to defeat Word of Life.
Jared House paced Word of Life with 27 points.
Chadwick School (Calif.) 59, Mountain View 56 — Jordan Yang scored 15 points, and the Dolphins overcame a 22-13 first-quarter deficit to edge the Saints in a quarterfinal game.
Duke Lindsey added 11 points for Chadwick.
Tyrell Brooks made six 3-pointers and finished with 32 points for Mountain View. Terrence Brooks added 13 points for the Saints.
St. Joseph (Calif.) 70, Tech 59 — Tevesi Auau’s 21 points helped the Knights overcome dismal free-throw shooting and down the Roadrunners in a quarterfinal.
Angel Ortiz and Michael Ramirez each added 13 points for St. Joseph, which made just 17 of 40 free throws.
Jurelle Orbino led Tech with 18 points, and teammate Zail Lewis scored 11.
