Outlook: The Pirates won their first region title since 2000 and made their first state tournament appearance since 2003 last year.
But only one starter returns from that squad, so replicating that success will be a challenge. It’s one the Pirates think they’re ready to tackle.
“We lost some amazing senior players who built this program up to a championship contender,” Humes said. “We return a lot of experience and have a balanced team that wants to keep this success going for our program.”
