GIRLS BASKETBALL: Carpenter’s double-double lifts Miners by Cowboys

Nina Carpenter had 12 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots Friday to help Sunrise Mountain’s girls basketball team rally to top visiting Chaparral, 46-37 in overtime.

Tayaa Pratt added 10 points, four steals and four assists for the Miners, who trailed 34-25 after three quarters, but outscored the Cowboys, 10-1 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Tyrah Lee had 11 rebounds and 10 blocks for Sunrise Mountain.

Taij Criss-Felton led Chaparral with 18 points.

Cheyenne 44, Western 38 — At Western, Koreyl Godbolt scored 15 points to lead the Desert Shields over the Warriors.

Bria Buchanan added 11 points for Cheyenne, which rallied from a 15-14 halftime deficit.

Capricia Pierce scored 20 points for Western.

Desert Pines 48, Moapa Valley 39 — At Overton, See’Airrah Evans-Collins had 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Jaguars by the Pirates.

Chrystian Myles added 16 points, and Jordan Bailey had 10 points for Desert Pines.

Summer Evans scored 11 points, and DaniElle Russo added 10 points for Moapa Valley.

Mojave 63, Sierra Vista 46 — At Mojave, Charleea Armstrong poured in 35 points to lead the Rattlers by the Mountain Lions.

Keyara Lemon added nine points for Mojave, which closed the game on a 20-6 run.

Kayla Barnum had 11 points, and Iymoni Burrell scored 10 for Sierra Vista.

Palo Verde 55, Shadow Ridge 41 — At Shadow Ridge, Paulina Silcox poured in 23 points to lead the Panthers over the Mustangs.

Marcie Goldberg scored 11 for Palo Verde, which led 48-21 after three quarters.

Assana King led Shadow Ridge with 14 points.

Spring Valley 58, Clark 43 — At Spring Valley, Kayla Harris scored 28 points to guide the Grizzlies by the Chargers.

Bria Hardin-Davidson added 11 points, six assists and seven steals for Spring Valley, which got 12 rebounds from Alana Walker and 11 rebounds from Izzy Anderson.

Bobbi Floyd led Clark with 24 points.

Boulder City 46, Del Sol 28 — At Boulder City, Megan Morton had 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Eagles downed the Dragons.

Alyssa Ybarra had 12 points, and Katlyn Daly grabbed 14 rebounds for Boulder City, which used a 19-4 third-quarter run to take control.

Azhwalaee Oliver led Del Sol with 13 points.

Virgin Valley 49, Tech 25 — At Mesquite, Briana Todd had 10 points and seven rebounds to help the Bulldogs top the Roadrunners.

Kourtney Metzger added 10 points, and Bernice Fiso had seven rebounds for Virgin Valley, which led 18-5 after one quarter.

Clarissa Szluha led Tech with eight points.

Bishop Gorman 66, Durango 24 — At Durango, Raychel Stanley scored 14 points as the Gaels routed the Trailblazers.

Skylar Jackson and Megan Jacobs each added 11 points for Gorman, which led 45-9 at the half.

Brittany Romo led Durango with 14 points.

Faith Lutheran 65, Pahrump Valley 23 — At Pahrump, Haley Vinson scored 22 points as the Crusaders ran away from the Trojans.

Morgan Hill added 13 points, and Madison Bocobo scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which led 59-18 after three quarters.

Shayla Dance had six points for Pahrump.

Lund 29, Indian Springs 18 — At Indian Springs, Alondra Dowl scored 10 points to lead the Mustangs by the Thunderbirds.

Kayla Noyes and Halle Jackson each had five points for Indian Springs.

Lincoln County 59, Lake Mead 19 — At Panaca, Savannah Harr scored 12 points as the Lynx routed the Eagles.

Savannah Schmidt led Lake Mead with nine points.

White Pine 46, Mountain View 31 — At Ely, Ashlyn Huntington, Jaden Ernest and Kadi Finicum each had nine points to lead the Bobcats by the Saints.

Rose Adkins paced Mountain View with 10 points.

Agsssi Prep 55, Calvary Chapel 28 — At Calvary Chapel, Destiny Rover scored 14 points, and the Stars took advantage of a 19-1 third-quarter run to down the Lions.

Lovely Glinton added 10 points for Agassi Prep.

Jenna Mace paced Calvary Chapel with 10 points.

Needles 59, The Meadows 52 — At Needles, Calif., the host school nipped The Meadows.

Round Mountain 46, Sandy Valley 43 — At Sandy Valley, the Knights edged the Sidewinders.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
