GIRLS BASKETBALL: Gators use late surge to down Rams

Shelby Clark's layup with three minutes to play Thursday sparked an 8-0 run and helped Green Valley's girls basketball team to a 56-49 win over visiting Rancho in a Division I Southeast League game.

Yamilei Rodriguez led the Gators with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Brooke Haney added 15 points, and Gwen Garcia notched 13 points and five assists for Green Valley, which got seven points from Clark.

Tatianna Lee led Rancho with 17 points, and teammate Maureen Macato scored 13.

Coronado 43, Basic 37 — At Basic, Haley Tyrell scored 17 points as the Cougars jumped out to an early lead before holding off the Wolves.

Payton Caci added 10 points for Coronado, which took control by outscoring Basic 15-5 in the first quarter.

Happy Butler scored 18 points to lead the Wolves.

Silverado 57, Las Vegas 44 — At Las Vegas, Deja Siaki scored 30 points to power the Skyhawks over the Wildcats.

Lyric Knight and Araianna Moon each added eight points for Silverado, which led 34-23 after three quarters.

Bianca Matlock had 23 points to lead Las Vegas, and teammate Armonnie Byrd added 11 points for the Wildcats.

Desert Oasis 70, Bonanza 24 — At Desert Oasis, Ahmaya Smith scored 20 points as the Diamondbacks routed the overmatched Bengals.

Ashlynn Sharp scored 14 points, and Mikala Kirby added 11 points for the Diamondbacks, who outscored Bonanza 15-1 in the first quarter.

Jazzmon Ferguson scored nine points to lead the Bengals.

Arbor View 62, Cimarron-Memorial 13 — At Arbor View, Kalli Hosier scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack as the Aggies routed the Spartans.

Carol Rivera-Cervantes supplied eight points and seven assists, and teammate Jordan Dawkins added eight points for Arbor View, which held Cimarron scoreless in the third quarter.

Ashli Tyus had five points to pace the Spartans.

Desert Pines 41, Boulder City 35 — At Desert Pines, Jordan Bailey scored 13 points to guide the Jaguars to victory over the Eagles.

Chrystian Myles added 11 points, and teammate See'Airrah Evans-Collins supplied seven points, 10 rebounds and six steals for Desert Pines.

Megan Morton led all scorers with 29 points for Boulder City.

Round Mountain 48, Indian Springs 9 — At Indian Springs, Alyssa Hanks scored 23 points, all in the first half, as the Knights downed the Thunderbirds.

Mariah Mayfield added seven points for Round Mountain, which held Indian Springs scoreless in the first and third quarters.

Kayla Noles and Lateasha Marcure each had four points to pace the Thunderbirds.

Foothill 60, Eldorado 50 — At Eldorado, the Falcons held on to beat the Sundevils.

Liberty 2, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Patriots won by forfeit. The Pioneers forfeited the game after their participation in a brawl with Mojave on Monday.
