GIRLS BASKETBALL: Hawkins, Chaparral work overtime to top Tech

Marcia Hawkins scored 21 points, and Chaparral rallied to top host Tech 44-39 in overtime on Monday.

Tech led 35-26 entering the fourth quarter, but the Cowboys outscored the Roadrunners 11-2 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Haylee Holsclaw had nine points to lead Tech.

Boulder City 51, Moapa Valley 20 — At Overton, Megan Morton and Whitney Barlow each had 15 points as the Eagles routed the Pirates.

Katlyn Daly added eight points for Boulder City, which held Moapa Valley scoreless in the second quarter and led 21-5 at the half.

Laughlin 35, Lake Mead 34 — At Lake Mead, Kayla Nelson scored 11 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Cougars rallied to down the Eagles.

Cassie Beggs added nine points for Laughlin, which trailed 27-19 going into the fourth quarter.

Lake Mead’s Shannon Regan scored 17 points, and Savannah Schmidt had 14 points for the Eagles.
