GIRLS BASKETBALL: Lions edge Stars, secure playoff berth

Lianne Reyes scored 18 points Friday to help Calvary Chapel’s girls basketball team secure a spot in the Division III Southern League playoffs with a 40-39 home victory over Agassi Prep.
Phallen Nelson added 10 points, and Marissa Tiemann grabbed 13 rebounds for the Lions, who improved to 9-4 in league play.
Mariah Graves had 11 points for the Stars, who fell out of playoff contention with 6-7 league record.
The Meadows 43, Lake Mead 36 — At Lake Mead, Kaiya Massey had 15 points to help the Mustangs outlast the Eagles.
Bailey Gosse added 14 points for The Meadows, which carried a 27-25 lead into the fourth quarter before finally finding breathing room in the final three minutes.
Taylor Webb had 13 points, and Savannah Schmidt scored 12 for Lake Mead.
Needles 50, Lincoln County 45 — At Panaca, Demi Limon scored 16 points, and Brenna Chavez added 14 points as the Mustangs shocked the Lynx.
De’Chaunee Russell added 10 points for Needles, which made 23 of 46 free throws.
Savannah Harr led Lincoln County with 18 points.
Pahranagat Valley 69, Beatty 29 — At Beatty, Bailee Hosier scored 25 points as the Panthers wrapped up the Division IV Southern League crown with a rout of the Hornets.
Kimberly Lewis had 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Traci Strong scored 13 for Pahranagat Valley, which got 10 points from Kalli Hosier.
Round Mountain 53, Word of Life 17 — At Word of Life, Morgan Manley poured in 28 points to lead the Knights by the Eagles.
Karissa Brown added 13 points for Round Mountain.
