GIRLS BASKETBALL: Longhorns let fourth-quarter lead slip away

Legacy’s girls basketball team held a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter on Wednesday but couldn’t hang on as El Rancho (California) topped the Longhorns 46-36 in the West Coast Festival in Ontario, California.
C’Aree Stevenson had nine points to lead Legacy, which led 31-30 after three quarters. TaEha Pankey added eight points for the Longhorns.
St. Joseph’s Academy (Mo.) 67, Coronado 29 — At Orlando, Florida, Alex Kerr had 14 points as the Angels rolled past the Cougars in the Rock Holiday Classic.
Kelly McLaughlin added 13 points for St. Joseph’s, which led 43-14 at the half.
Haley Tyrell led Coronado with seven points.
