GIRLS BASKETBALL: Niara Smith’s 17 points help Cimarron-Memorial edge Palo Verde

Niara Smith had 17 points Monday to lead the Cimarron-Memorial girls basketball team to a 46-43 home victory over Palo Verde.

Elise Young scored 15 points for the Spartans, who trailed 18-15 at halftime.

Kedrena Johnson scored 11 points for the Panthers.

Basic 26, Boulder City 23 — At Basic, the Wolves outscored the Eagles 14-5 in the fourth quarter to claim victory.

Gail Robinson scored seven points to lead Basic.

Julia Worrall scored eight points for the Eagles.

Coronado 63, Desert Pines 50 — At Coronado, Haley Tyrell led the Cougars with 25 points as they defeated the Jaguars.

Coronado’s Payton Caci and Talia Sapp each scored 10 points.

Desert Pines’ See’Airrah Evans-Collins scored 25 points, and teammate Zeyana Pattillo added 14 points.

Las Vegas 64, Silverado 41 — At Las Vegas, Jasmine Perez scored 21 points as the Wildcats routed the Skyhawks.

Armonnie Byrd had 16 points, and Teconna Dyer scored 12 for the Wildcats, who started the game on a 17-2 run.

The Wildcats forced 35 turnovers.

Sidni Wise-Wright scored 13 points to lead the Skyhawks.

Legacy 52, Shadow Ridge 20 — At Legacy, Rory Carter scored 14 points as the Longhorns rolled past the Mustangs.

Alexa Martins led Shadow Ridge in scoring with 12 points.

Centennial 60, Faith Lutheran 11 — At Faith Lutheran, 13 Bulldogs scored in a rout of the Crusaders.

Samantha Thomas led Centennial with 10 points, and the Bulldogs led 44-3 at halftime.

Pahrump Valley 47, Bonanza 17 — At Pahrump, Bethany Calvert led all scorers with 10 points as the Trojans defeated the Bengals.

The Trojans defense allowed just two points in the first quarter and three points in the second to build a 22-5 halftime lead.

Adelson School 39, GV Christian 26 — At Adelson School, Caroline Altman scored 15 points to lead the Lions past the Eagles.

Brittany Risko added 10 points for the Lions, who outscored the Eagles 27-18 in the second half.

Hope Watson scored 16 points to lead the Eagles.
