GIRLS BASKETBALL: Patrice Thomas leads Tech by Chaparral

Patrice Thomas scored 13 points to lift the Tech girls basketball team to a 35-32 victory over host Chaparral on Thursday.

Tayler Muwwakkil added 10 points for Tech.

Tiara Martin and Jai’La Vincent each scored nine points to pace Chaparral.

Shadow Ridge 55, Eldorado 37 — At Shadow Ridge, Caitlyn Covington scored a game-high 17 points to power the Mustangs by the Sundevils.

Summer Plunkett supplied 10 points and 10 rebounds for Shadow Ridge, which got 10 points from Alexa Martins.

Kiana Parkes led Eldorado with 13 points, and teammate Shakayzzia Hunt had 11 points for the Sundevils.

Canyon Springs 59, Valley 22 — At Valley, Yemiyah Morris scored 15 points to lead the Pioneers past the Vikings.

Dayonna Maddox added 10 points for Valley, which used a 16-4 second-quarter run to take control of the game.

Sondra Scroggins scored nine points to lead the Vikings.

Desert Oasis 65, Bonanza 15 — At Desert Oasis, Ashlynn Sharp scored 17 points to lead the Diamondbacks in a rout of the Bengals.

Dajaah Lightfoot added 14 points for Desert Oasis, which led 52-11 at the first half.

Madie Gonzalez scored eight points to lead the Bengals.

Boulder City 49, Del Sol 15 — At Boulder City, Keely Alexander scored 13 points to lead the Eagles to a win over the Dragons.

Madison Manns had 11 points for Boulder City.

Spring Valley 49, Clark 14 — At Clark, Kayla Harris had 13 points as the Grizzlies rolled past the Chargers.

Essence Booker added 12 points for Spring Valley, which led 44-6 at the half.

Lake Mead 40, Adelson School 16 — At Lake Mead, Aaliyah Perkins scored 11 points to lead the Eagles past the Lions.

Jacea Tillman added eight points for Lake Mead, which outscored Adelson School 17-4 in the first quarter.

Brittany Risko scored 10 points to lead the Lions.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
