GIRLS BASKETBALL: Roy’s free throws clinch win for Dragons

Sayanna Roy hit 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter, and scored 15 of her 24 points in the second half Thursday to lead Del Sol’s girls basketball team to a 62-52 home win over Silverado.

Alina Marruffo had 13 of her 15 points in the second half for the Dragons, and teammate Astrid Rodriguez scored 14.

Deja Siaki led the Skyhawks with 20 points, and teammate Tatiana Rolon scored 11.

Valley 48, Basic 31 — At Valley, Kennedy Wharton supplied 18 points, 21 rebounds and five steals to lead the Vikings to victory over the Wolves.

Zhani Thomas tallied 15 rebounds and Eimainei Thomas-Palmer notched 13 rebounds for Valley, which got nine points from Alahiya Williams.

Dana Deloney scored 18 points to lead Basic.

Green Valley 71, Spring Valley 29 — At Spring Valley, Maggie Manwarren scored 20 points, and the Gators rolled to a 36-17 halftime lead en route to the win.

Ellee Barton added 12 points for Green Valley, which used a 20-4 third-quarter run to ice the game.

Shania Davis led Spring Valley with 11 points, and teammate Asiah Stone scored 10.

Clark 71, Eldorado 48 — At Clark, Bobbi Floyd had 34 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Chargers over the Sundevils.

Ci’Quadya Belsar helped Clark with 10 points and 12 assists, and Karlicia Stroughter added eight points.

DeNisheun Jackson recorded 18 points for Eldorado, which led 14-11 after the first quarter.

Liberty 70, Las Vegas 29 — At Las Vegas, Paris Strawther had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Patriots by the Wildcats.

Nancy Caballero had 10 points, and Jamellia Clark added nine points for Liberty.

Shaleea Butler led Las Vegas with 12 points.

Arbor View 72, Desert Oasis 31 — At Arbor View, Dana Lewis had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Aggies over the Diamondbacks.

Ariona Gill added 20 points, six rebounds, five steals and four blocks for the Aggies, who led 38-13 at the half.

Mikala Kirby led Desert Oasis with 16 points.

Canyon Springs 63, Desert Pines 14 — At Canyon Springs, Cherise Beynon had 12 points and eight assists, and the Pioneers outscored the Jaguars 39-4 during the final three quarters en route to victory.

Daijhan Cooks added 12 points, and Alexia Throwers scored 10 for Canyon Springs.

Chrystian Myles led Desert Pines with eight points.

Reno 70, Faith Lutheran 35 — At Reno, Shalen Shaw had 14 points as the Huskies topped the Crusaders in the High Sierra Tournament.

Morgan McGwire had 11 points, and Mallory McGwire scored 10 for Reno, which won the matchup between last year’s Division I and Division I-A state champions.

Dani Tharaldson led Faith Lutheran with 11 points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
