GIRLS BASKETBALL: Shadow Ridge holds off Palo Verde rally to win 65-62

Shadow Ridge’s Lauryn Calo scored 23 points Wednesday to help the Mustangs girls basketball team hold off a fourth-quarter rally from visiting Palo Verde and win 65-62.

The Mustangs led 53-39 entering the fourth quarter, but Palo Verde nearly doubled up Shadow Ridge in the fourth quarter. Arianna Davis played a big part in that, scoring a game-high 32 points for the Panthers.

Alexa Martins scored 15 points for Shadow Ridge, which also got 10 points apiece from Caitlyn Covington and Julia Jaakkola.

Faith Lutheran 39, Legacy 34 — At Faith Lutheran, Madison Bocobo scored six of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter as the Crusaders downed the Longhorns.

Bryanna Neagle added eight points for Faith Lutheran, which trailed 28-25 after three quarters.

Rory Carter led Legacy with 12 points.

Desert Pines 46, Western 37 — At Western, See’Airrah Evans-Collins poured in 23 points as the Jaguars rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat the Warriors.

Heaven Heacock and Destiny Weathers each added six points for Desert Pines, which trailed 22-14 at halftime.

Ja’Moni Brown led Western with 17 points.

Foothill 57, Coronado 46 — At Foothill, Rae Burrell scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Falcons past the Cougars.

Trinity Betoney had 14 points, and Kylie Vint scored 11 for Foothill, which jumped out to a 25-14 first quarter lead.

Haley Tyrell scored 17 points, and Payton Caci added 12 points for Coronado.

Cheyenne 56, Pahrump Valley 29 — Ejanae Coopwood scored 20 points to power the Desert Shields by the Trojans.

Starr Hawkins added 11 points, Marisha Harden had 10 points, and Da’Vione Lomax supplied seven points, 17 rebounds and five steals for Cheyenne.

Isabelle Meza led Pahrump Valley with seven points.

Green Valley 54, Basic 26 — At Green Valley, Brooke Haney led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Gators rolled past the Wolves.

Jamaica Lewis had 10 points, and Gabriella Ghasserani added seven points for Green Valley.

Gail Robinson led Basic with 10 points.

Centennial 79, Arbor View 36 — At Arbor View, Samantha Thomas scored 19 points as the Bulldogs routed the Aggies.

Melanie Isbell had 13 points for Centennial, which got 12 points apiece from Justice Ethridge and Eboni Walker.

Kalli Hosier paced Arbor View with 13 points.

Liberty 72, Silverado 27 — At Liberty, Dre’una Edwards led the Patriots to victory over the Skyhawks with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

London Pavlica added 12 points, six steals, five rebounds and five assists for Liberty, which led 30-6 after the first quarter.

Lake Mead 50, GV Christian 16 — At Lake Mead, Aaliyah Perkins had 14 points and 12 rebounds to help Lake Mead storm past GV Christian.

Shelbi Shaw added 11 points for Lake Mead, which led 39-9 at halftime.

Jessica Stewart scored six points for GV Christian.

Water Canyon (Utah) 28, Beaver Dam 19 — At Littlefield, Arizona, Noemi Ruiz led all scorers with 10 points, but the Diamondbacks fell to Water Canyon.
