Liberty Girls Basketball 2012-2013 Capsule

Head coach: Rich Santigate, first season

2011-12 record: 24-6 (11-3 Southeast)

Returning letter winners (starters): Six (three)

Top players: C Dayanni Cochran (Sr.), G Tae'lor Monroe (Sr.), G Sydney Clark (Jr.), F Jamellia Clark (Jr.), C Jazmin O'Bannon (Jr.), F Paris Strawther (So.)

Outlook: The Patriots have an abundance of what most teams lack – height.

O'Bannon is 6-feet-3-inches tall, and Cochran and Strawther both are 6-2. Jamellia Clark is 6-0.

Sydney Clark is the leading returning scorer (9.8 ppg), but four other returnes averaged at least 5.4 ppg.

"With only three seniors returning, the Patriots will grow as the season progresses," Santigate said. "Opening with Centennial on the road, then traveling to La Jolla, Calif. to compete in the prestigious Sweet Sixteen Invitational will certainly be an early test for this very young, but talented group."
