Two teams from Southern Nevada have claimed the most boys and girls high school basketball state championships in state history.
The Liberty boys and Bishop Gorman girls remain No. 1 in the Review-Journal’s Class 5A basketball rankings, with both having big games at Saturday’s Big City Showdown.
After winning the Class 2A state title last season, the Democracy Prep girls basketball team won its appeal to move up to 5A and has emerged as a title contender.
