ROUNDUP: Bonanza rallies past Desert Pines in girls basketball

Christin Figgins scored 18 points Tuesday, and Bonanza rallied from a four-point deficit after three quarters to beat Desert Pines, 57-52.

Alice Pitts added 17 points for the Bengals, who improved to 7-0.

LaBrea Walker led the Jaguars (2-1) with 18 points. Clarissa Davis added 17 points, and Andrea Jefferson scored 13.

Green Valley 74, Mojave 45 — At Mojave, Jazmine Jarvis logged 30 points, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the Gators past the Rattlers.

Danielle Christenson added 13 points for Green Valley, which outscored Mojave 39-16 in the second half.

Jazzmine Robinson led the Rattlers with 18 points. Shanae Ireland scored 11.

Centennial 84, Coronado 51 — At Coronado, Courtney Hayes scored 23 points and Johnna Brown added 22 as the Bulldogs rolled past the Cougars.

Deanna Daniels contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds for Centennial.

Coronado’s Lindsay Decker had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Stacy Rapp tallied 12 points.

Liberty 76, Canyon Springs 31 — At Canyon Springs, Jade Washington led four players in double figures with 20 points as the Patriots routed the Patriots.

Daynice Cochran added 16 points, and Amanda Delgado and Destiny Whitehead each scored 15 for Liberty, which led 25-8 after one quarter.

Basic 38, Arbor View 31 — At Arbor View, Michaela Thomas had 17 points and 15 rebounds to help the Wolves beat the Aggies.

Marquichea Burns added 11 points for Basic, which led 35-16 after three quarters.

Jena Valenzuela led Arbor View with 10 points.

Silverado 43, Palo Verde 32 — At Silverado, Alena Evans scored 14 points and pulled down 17 rebounds, and Mikayla Thielges added 10 points and 10 rebounds to propel the Skyhawks.

Silverado led 24-21 at halftime and outscored the Panthers 12-4 in the decisive third quarter.

Meka Smith scored nine points and Alyssa Amoruso eight for Palo Verde.

Foothill 64, Cimarron-Memorial 46 — At Cimarron-Memorial, Mercedes Starr scored 16 points to lead four Falcons in double figures in a victory over the Spartans.

Alysse Thummel added 15 points for Foothill. Brigitte Rigon scored 13, and Desirae Ayala scored 11.

Catherine Wyre scored 21 points for Cimarron.

Shadow Ridge 47, Eldorado 34 — At Shadow Ridge, Brianna Tatum and Cheyana Slocum each scored 11 points and Elisha Hensey added nine as the Mustangs beat the Sundevils.

Shadow Ridge outscored Eldorado 18-1 in the third quarter to break a 13-13 halftime tie.

Chaparral 40, Del Sol 29 — At Del Sol, the Cowboys scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to rally past the Dragons.

Desirae Pierce scored 15 points for Chaparral to lead all scorers.

Tech 60, Desert Oasis 29 — At Desert Oasis, the Roadrunners jumped to a 24-4 lead and routed the Diamondbacks. 

Mesha Phillips scored a game-high 24 points for Tech. Cheryl Harless added 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Desert Oasis was led by Richelle Carino and Alexus Caulk, who each scored eight points.

Rancho 53, Cheyenne 52 — At Cheyenne, Khalia Branch scored 12 of her game-high 30 points from the free-throw line in the Rams’ win over the Desert Shields.

Branch made six free throws in the closing minutes to keep her team on top. She finished 12-for-17 from the line.

Cheyenne’s Sabrina King scored a team-high 22 points, and Shavrice Cameron added 11.

Legacy 54, Las Vegas 45 — At Legacy, Kendra Irving had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Longhorns past the Wildcats.

Legacy’s Kindrea Poole finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Bri Johnson scored 10 points to lead the Wildcats.

Boulder City 54, River Valley 27 — At Boulder City, Caiti Forrester scored 27 points on 13-of-20 shooting and had nine assists to lead the Eagles past River Valley.

Jessi Forrester scored 12 points for Boulder City.

Lincoln County 62, Moapa Valley 60 — At Lincoln County, junior forward Marissa Smerek scored a game-high 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Lynx past the Pirates in double overtime.

Lincoln County appeared to have won the game on a shot by Kori Gloeckner with 0.3 seconds left, but the officials waved off the basket.

During the second overtime, Lincoln County scored two quick baskets and survived a half-court heave by Caly Dunlop that bounced off the front of the rim.

Jessica Waite had 14 points to lead the Pirates. Brianne Olige added 10.

Calvary Chapel 34, Trinity 23 — At Dula, Sammie Mann scored 24 points to help the Lions beat the Thunder.

Calvary Chapel outscored Trinity 8-1 in the third quarter to begin pulling away.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
