Roundup: Canyon Springs continues hot start

Jeanette Fine scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Canyon Springs’ girls basketball team rolled to a 59-16 home win over Durango on Thursday night.

Rajah Thomas and Kayla Johnson each added eight points for the Pioneers.

Italia Gibbons scored nine points to lead the Trailblazers

Coronado 52, Las Vegas 24 — At Las Vegas High, Sade Williams had 12 points and Haley Morton provided 11 points for the Cougars in their win over the Wildcats.

Tia Thornton scored eight for Coronado, which led 31-12 at halftime.

Xeda Regala and Cortney Stark had five points apiece to lead Las Vegas.

Foothill 60, Chaparral 14 — At Foothill, 12 players scored for the Falcons in their blowout win over the Cowboys.

Maddy Beckham had a team-high eight points for Foothill.

Bishop Gorman 66, Tuba City (Arizona) 41 - At Lake Powell, Arizona, Shaira Young, Caira Young and Isabella Westbrook each scored 11 points as the Gaels rolled in the Lake Powell Holiday Shootout.

Spring Valley 70, Lakewood (Colo.) 37 — At La Jolla, Calif., Rory Carter and Alexus Quaadman scored 11 points apiece to help the Grizzlies knock off the Tigers.

Kianna Turenne added 10 points for Spring Valley.

IMG Academy (Fla.) 54, Spring Valley 41 — At La Jolla, Calif., Deja McDonald scored 14 points for the Grizzlies in their loss to the Ascenders.

Garrisen Freeman added nine points for Spring Valley.

Calvary Chapel 63, West Wendover 28 — At Calvary Chapel, Tyra Perkins scored 16 points as the Lions beat the Wolverines in the Lake Mead Classic.

Olivia Bell added 14 points for Calvary Chapel.

Word of Life 29, Adelson School 26 — At Adelson School, Alissa Chavez scored 14 points to help World of Life beat the Lions.

Jayda Gilmore led Adelson School with 10 points.

Moapa Valley 65, Tech 50 — At Lake Mead, the Pirates took care of the Roadrunners.

Boulder City 50, American Prep 19 — At Lake Mead, the Eagles trounced American Prep.
