ROUNDUP: Centennial clinches Northwest girls basketball title

Ashley Klemz had 22 points and Deanna Daniels 16 points and 14 rebounds as Centennial routed visiting Mojave 84-43 to clinch the Northwest League girls basketball title.

Courtney Hayes added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who jumped to a 23-7 first-quarter lead.

Jazzmine Robinson had 18 points and Ivionne Reece 12 for Mojave.

Silverado 53, Liberty 50 —
At Liberty, Shea Collins scored nine of her 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Skyhawks overcame a 37-33 deficit to nip the Patriots.

Alena Evans added 12 points for Silverado, which built a 31-24 halftime lead but was outscored 13-2 in the third quarter.

Amanda Delgado led Liberty with 13 points. Destiny Whitehead added 11 points and Daynice Cochran 10 rebounds for the Patriots.

Basic 47, Foothill 42 — At Foothill, Marissa Ross and Marquichea Burns each scored 12 points to lead the Wolves over the Falcons.

Alysse Thummel scored 10 points to lead Foothill.

Coronado 54, Tech 50 — At Coronado, Stacy Rapp scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half as the Cougars overcame a 27-17 halftime deficit to defeat the Roadunners.

Courtney Whitaker added 13 points and Lindsay Decker 12 for Coronado.

Mesha Phillips led Tech with 20 points. Cheryl Harless scored 15 and Julie Harless 10 for the Roadrunners.

Green Valley 68, Del Sol 39 — At Del Sol, Jazmine Jarvis had 21 points and Sarah Pickus 14 to help the Gators down the Dragons.

Green Valley jumped to a 22-8 first-quarter lead.

Amy Austin scored 22 points for Del Sol.

Cimarron-Memorial 51, Legacy 45 — At Cimarron, Catherine Wyre had 25 points to help the Spartans outlast the Longhorns.

Veronica Alcala added 10 points for Cimarron.

Kindrea Poole scored 15 points and Breanah Manley 12 for Legacy.

Cheyenne 41, Arbor View 20 — At Cheyenne, Amanda Fluker scored eight points to help the Desert Shields beat the Aggies.

Taylor Shields led Arbor View with five points.

Palo Verde 57, Shadow Ridge 26 —
At Palo Verde, Hayley Henderson scored 19 points and Jasmin Kiley 14 to help the Panthers beat the Mustangs.

Palo Verde led 11-3 after one quarter and outscored Shadow Ridge 23-5 in the third.

Niki Lawson had eight points for Shadow Ridge.

Desert Pines 69, Rancho 34 — At Desert Pines, LaBrea Walker had 23 points and Clarissa Davis 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Jaguars past the Rams.

Andrea Jefferson added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Desert Pines, which clinched the Northeast League title.

Khalia Branch scored 14 points to lead Rancho.

Las Vegas 45, Canyon Springs 42 — At Canyon Springs, Bri Johnson scored 13 points and Tia Matthews 10 to lead the Wildcats over the Pioneers.

Canyon Springs rallied to cut a nine-point deficit to two with three minutes left in the fourth quarter before Las Vegas held on for the win.

Skotasia Thomas and Diamond Broadus each had 10 points for the Pioneers.

Eldorado 64, Chaparral 30 — At Chaparral, Gianna Lafayette scored 18 points as the Sundevils beat the Cowboys.

Princess Jervis had 15 points and Takeyra Ingram 13 for Eldorado, which broke open the game with a 28-6 third-quarter spurt.

Gabriella Vega scored seven points for Chaparral.

Mountain View 49, The Meadows 24 — At The Meadows, Ellie Markwardt scored 16 points for the Saints, who bolted to leads of 28-13 at the half and 41-15 after three quarters en route to victory.

Patrice Marshall had 12 points and Zari Riley 11 rebounds for Mountain View.

Cathryn Chakmak led The Meadows with seven points.

Faith Lutheran 52, Lake Mead 21 — At Lake Mead, Dominique Bibbins scored seven of her 14 points during a 14-2 second-quarter run as the Crusaders rolled past the Eagles.

Faith Lutheran also used a 14-3 run in the third quarter to put away the game.

Emily Dean led Lake Mead with six points.

Needles (Calif.) 69, Agassi Prep 35 —
At Agassi Prep, Miranda Brackett scored 14 points as the Mustangs downed the Stars.

Alex Chandler added 12 points and Christina Dick 11 for Needles, which led 16-4 after one quarter.

Noel Chavez scored 12 points and Larrisha Burrell 10 for Agassi Prep.

4A/3A girls state roundup: Legacy, Canyon Springs ousted

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
