ROUNDUP: Durango girls ride balanced scoring past Sierra Vista

Jazmine Chavez scored 19 points Friday to help host Durango’s girls basketball team to a 56-41 victory over Sierra Vista.

Brittany Romo scored 14 points, and Maria Rico added 13 points for the Trailblazers.

Melia Tadytin led the Mountain Lions with 16 points, and teammate Kelsey Jimenez scored 11.

Arbor View 55, Palo Verde 45 — At Palo Verde, Janae Strode scored 19 points to lead the Aggies past the Panthers.

Ariona Gill added 16 points for Arbor View, which broke open a close game with a run late in the third quarter.

Paulina Silcox led Palo Verde with 13 points. Ivana Ganeva added 11 points, and Ioana Ganeva scored 10 for Palo Verde.

Coronado 48, Del Sol 31 — At Coronado, Sofie Cruz scored 10 of her 18 points during a 20-11 third-quarter run as the Cougars topped the Dragons.

Ashley Johnson added 10 points for Coronado.

Chloe Cabanas led Del Sol with 13 points.

Las Vegas 57, Green Valley 48 — At Green Valley, Shomari Harris led all scorers with 24 points as the Wildcats downed the Gators.

Matti Ventling chipped in with 13 points, and Shaleea Butler scored 11 for Las Vegas, which made 17 of 22 free throws.

Maggie Manwarren led Green Valley with 20 points, and teammate Rianna Rudolph had 10 points.

Spring Valley 35, Shadow Ridge 30 — At Shadow Ridge, Krystal McKnight scored 11 points, and Shawna Patterson had 10 points as the Grizzlies outlasted the Mustangs.

Kaila Hurley led Shadow Ridge with seven points.

Foothill 79, Eldorado 58 — At Foothill, Taylor Turney scored 29 points and the Falcons scored 50 points in the middle quarters to defeat the Sundevils.

Mikayla Yeakel and Anaya Rodisha each scored 14 points for Foothill.

Denisheun Jackson had 27 points, and Desia Walker added 18 points for the Sundevils.

Canyon Springs 76, Rancho 39 — At Canyon Springs, Cherise Beynon had 23 points and six assists to help the Pioneers cruise past the Rams.

Mandy Chitwood scored 20 points for the Pioneers, who took over with a 20-6 second-quarter burst.

LaKiya Yarber had 12 points, and Alexia Thrower scored 11 for Canyon Springs.

Kanosha Grey led Rancho with 14 points.

Valley 65, Silverado 33 — At Valley, Kennedy Wharton scored 17 points to lead the Vikings in a rout of the Skyhawks.

Tyricia Payne had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Gabby Cabanero added 11 points and six assists for Valley. Zhani Thomas scored 10 for the Vikings.

A.J. Hodas and Brittany Loguidice each had eight points for Silverado.

Liberty 65, Basic 22 — At Liberty, Jamellia Clark had 15 points and five rebounds to help the Patriots roll past the Wolves.

Paris Strawther added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Kealy Brown scored 10 points for Liberty, which took control early.

Raevyn Allen led Basic with 10 points.

Lincoln County 58, Mountain View 28 — At Mountain View, Jaycee Wadsworth scored 21 points to lead the Lynx past the Saints.

Kaylee Teel supplied 12 points for Lincoln County.

Rose Adkins led Mountain View with 10 points.

Agassi Prep 52, Lake Mead 46 — At Agassi Prep, Javoulaee Green scored 15 points, and the Stars rallied from a big first-quarter deficit to defeat the Eagles.

Azaria Conway-Wilson added 13 points for Agassi Prep, which trailed 14-3 after the opening eight minutes and was down 25-18 at halftime. However, the Stars outscored Lake Mead 20-11 in the third quarter to take control.

Taylor Badua-Kono led the Eagles with 27 points.

Needles 39, The Meadows 26 — At The Meadows, Abby Chandler scored 16 of her 21 points in the second half to lead Needles by The Meadows.

Melaney Mayes and Bailey Gosse each scored six points for The Meadows.

Pahranagat Valley 56, Sandy Valley 29 — At Sandy Valley, Traci Strong had 17 points, and Bailee Hosier added 16 points to propel the Panthers by the Sidewinders.

Breanna Cripe led Sandy Valley with 10 points.

Indian Springs 42, Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 32 — At Indian Springs, Heather Thormahlen scored seven of her 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Thunderbirds beat the Diamondbacks.

Victoria Carpenter added 12 points for Indian Springs, which took control early in the fourth quarter.
