Roundup: Elise Young leads Cimarron past Desert Pines

Elise Young scored 20 points Wednesday as Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team earned a 47-38 home victory over Desert Pines.

Yesenia Wesley-Nash added 18 points for the Spartans, who outscored Desert Pines 14-8 in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Zeyana Pattillo scored 23 points to pace the Jaguars.

Cheyenne 60, Valley 29 — At Valley, Germanie White and Brielle Jefferson each scored 15 points to pace the Desert Shields’ easy victory over the Vikings.

Heavyn Bryant added 10 points for Cheyenne, which cruised to a 21-7 halftime lead.

Layla Jackson led Valley with 12 points.

Rancho 34, Somerset-Losee 6 — At Rancho, the Rams shut out the Lions in the middle quarters and rolled to the win.

Saipress Jones had seven points to lead Rancho, which led 18-2 at the half.

Sariah Watson managed three points for Somerset-Losee.

Bonanza 54, Mountain View 7 — At Mountain View, Isaira Diaz scored 16 points as the Bengals routed the Saints.

Aaliyah Booker added 12 points, and Macyn Raleigh scored 10 for Bonanza.

SLAM Academy 38, The Meadows 17 — At The Meadows, Jaiden Renne had 12 points to help the Bulls beat the Mustangs.

Taylor Fundaro added 11 points for SLAM Academy, which outscored The Meadows 16-2 in the second quarter to take an 18-9 lead.

Avery Kokinda led the Mustangs with nine points.

Tech 40, Lake Mead 28 — At Lake Mead, Tayler Muwwakkil had 22 points, 10 rebounds and four steals as the Roadrunners opened the Lake Mead Holiday Classic with a win over the Eagles.

Gabrielle Scales-Garza added eight points for Tech, which outscored Lake Mead 12-2 in the fourth quarter.

Lauryn Freund led the Eagles with 12 points.
