ROUNDUP: Ellenberg shoots Gaels into tourney final

Aaryn Ellenberg scored 28 points Tuesday as Bishop Gorman’s girls advanced to the title game of the Energy Classic in Gillette, Wyo., with a 68-58 win over Pinnacle (Ariz.).

The Gaels will face either Lynwood (Calif.) or host Campbell County (Wyo.) in the championship at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Mountain Ridge (Ariz.) 63, Legacy 59 — At the Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Breanah Manley scored 10 points, but the Longhorns fell in overtime in the title game of the Purple Division bracket.

The Longhorns trailed by six at the half before rallying to force overtime.

Kindrea Poole had eight points and 10 rebounds for Legacy.

West Wendover 51, Battle Mountain 39 — At West Wendover, Danika Sharp scored 34 points, and the Wolverines iced the game with a 16-8 fourth-quarter run.

Estella Botello added 11 points for West Wendover.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
