ROUNDUP: Jervis, Eldorado hand Desert Pines first Northeast defeat

Princess Jervis scored 13 points and grabbed 23 rebounds as Eldorado’s girls basketball team stunned visiting Desert Pines 66-58 on Friday.

The Jaguars, who suffered their first loss in Northeast League play, dressed only seven players and finished the game playing 3 on 5 after four players fouled out.

Gianna Lafayette had 17 points and Takeyra Ingram 10 for Eldorado, which jumped ahead of Las Vegas for the No. 3 seed in the Northeast.

Andrea Jefferson led the Jaguars with 19 points. LaBrea Walker added 15 and Clarissa Davis 10.

Valley 51, Chaparral 19 — At Valley, Nicolette Corona scored 12 points as the Vikings beat the Cowboys.

Bishop Gorman 60, Desert Oasis 13 —
At Desert Oasis, the Gaels led 22-1 after the first quarter and cruised past the Diamondbacks.

Dannielle Diamant scored 21 points to lead Gorman, and Yahindra Edwards had 11.

Bonanza 56, Sierra Vista 35 — At Sierra Vista, Shirley Pitts scored 24 points to spark the Bengals’ victory over the Lions.

Christin Figgins added 11 points for Bonanza.

Sierra Vista’s Nicolette Grigsby scored 13.

Pahrump Valley 51, Spring Valley 29 — At Pahrump, Kristi Daffer had 12 points and 23 rebounds to lead the Trojans’ easy victory.

Casey Scheller added 18 points and 15 rebounds for Pahrump Valley, which pulled away with a 36-17 advantage in the second half.

Adriana Flores led Spring Valley with eight points.

Western 60, Clark 44 — At Western, Melanie Russell scored 24 points, fueling the Warriors’ win over the Chargers.

Western’s Michelle Simon had 13 points.

Kearra Nesmith scored 16 to lead Clark. Tarah Murph supplied 14 and Katya Philogene 13.

Boulder City 41, Virgin Valley 36 — At Boulder City, Caiti Forrester scored a game-high 21 points, and the Eagles outscored the Bulldogs 11-4 in the third quarter before hanging on.

Lisa Henderson and Shelby Brotherson scored eight points each for Virgin Valley.

Moapa Valley 59, Faith Lutheran 34 — At Moapa Valley, the Pirates led 17-3 after the first quarter and cruised past the Crusaders.

Jessica Waite scored 15 points and Brianne Olige 12 to carry Moapa Valley.

Dominique Bibbins led Faith Lutheran with 15 points.

Needles 60, Lincoln County 53 —
At Needles, the Mustangs led 32-19 at halftime and held off the Lynx to wrap up first place in the 2A Southern League.

Miranda Brackett finished with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds for Needles, and Kristin Arthur contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Alex Chandler scored nine points in the fourth quarter and finished with 16 for the Mustangs.

Marissa Smerek scored 14 points and Maicah LeBaron 12 for Lincoln County.

White Pine 45, Calvary Chapel 29 —
At Calvary Chapel, Heather Hamilton scored 13 points to key the Bobcats’ victory over the Lions.

Sammie Mann led Calvary Chapel with 13 points.

West Wendover 2, Agassi Prep 0 —
At Agassi Prep, West Wendover won by forfeit because Agassi Prep didn’t have enough healthy and eligible players.
