ROUNDUP: Pahrump Valley girls down Durango

Casey Scheller had 18 points and Kristi Daffer added 13 points and 13 rebounds Wednesday to help host Pahrump Valley rally to beat Durango 51-40 in girls basketball.

Toi Simmons supplied eight points and nine assists for Pahrump, which trailed 22-18 at halftime but outscored Durango 17-0 in the third quarter.

Mia Bell and Amanda Boucher scored 17 points apiece for Durango.

Bishop Gorman 79, Spring Valley 17 — At Bishop Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg had 20 points and Amber Lane added 14 to help the Gaels cruise past the Grizzlies.

Gorman jumped to a 32-3 lead after one quarter. Yahindra Edwards had 13 points and Danielle Diamant 12 for the Gaels.

Chynna Wimberly led Spring Valley with six points.

Bonanza 68, Western 44 — At Bonanza, Christin Figgins and Shirley Pitts each scored 16 points, and the Bengals built a 36-22 halftime lead and routed the Warriors.

Melanie Russell led Western with 18 points, all coming on her six 3-pointers.

Sierra Vista 47, Desert Oasis 24 — At Sierra Vista, Jeanette Jackson scored a game-high 16 points to help the Grizzlies down the Diamondbacks.

Savedra Andrade added eight points for Sierra Vista, which held Desert Oasis to one point in the second quarter.

Auburn Smith scored 15 points to lead Desert Oasis.

Valley 44, Rancho 37 — At Valley, Vanessa Corona scored 11 points and Alisa Zimmerman had nine as the Vikings held off the Rams.

Valley led 32-12 at halftime but managed only 12 points the rest of the way.

Khalia Branch scored 13 of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead Rancho.

Desert Pines 65, Canyon Springs 23 — At Desert Pines, LaBrea Walker scored a game-high 21 points to go with five assists and Clarissa Davis had 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Jaguars rolled past the Pioneers.

Andrea Jefferson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Desert Pines, which led 37-12 at halftime.

Sabriya Brooks led Canyon Springs with six points.

Las Vegas 57, Eldorado 49 — At Las Vegas, Bri Johnson, Milana Jones and Tia Matthews each scored 12 points to lead the Wildcats past the Sundevils.

Eldorado’s Takeyra Ingram had 13 points, and Princess Jervis added 10.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
