ROUNDUP: Pierce propels Western girls past Mountain Lions

Capricia Pierce scored 23 points Friday to help Western’s girls basketball team rally for a 51-43 win at Sierra Vista.

Destiny Gonzalez added 16 points for the Warriors, who erupted in the second half after trailing 23-16 at halftime.

Melia Tadytin led the Mountain Lions with 16 points, and teammate Maranda Ramos added 10 points.

Green Valley 58, Clark 48 —
At Clark, Maggie Manwarren scored 15 points, and the Gators held on to beat the Chargers after building a 41-26 halftime lead.

Rianna Rudolph tallied 12 points, and Kelli Harper added 10 points for Green Valley.

Bobbi Floyd had 16 points, and Cequadva Belsar scored 13 for Clark.

Liberty 78, Silverado 34 — At Silverado, Sydney Clark scored 16 points, and Jazmin O’Bannon added 15 points to lead the Patriots over the Skyhawks.

Dayanni Cochran and Tae’lor Monroe each scored 10 points for Silverado, which led 47-25 at the half.

A.J. Hodas scored 12 points to lead Silverado.

Centennial 80, Arbor View 33 — 
At Centennial, Tamera Williams had 21 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead the Bulldogs past the Aggies.

Tramina Jordan had 12 points to help Centennial, and teammate Shelby Valentine added 11 points.

Janae Strode led Arbor View with 10 points.

Durango 56, Mojave 28 —
At Mojave, Jasmine Chavez scored 17 points, and the Trailblazers raced to a 31-10 halftime lead and beat the Rattlers.

Maria Rico added 14 points for Durango.

Rayena Rael paced Mojave with 11 points.

Del Sol 34, Pahrump Valley 22 — At Del Sol, Alina Marruffo had 10 points to lead the Dragons past the Trojans.

Chloe Cabanas and Melissa DeSantiago each had eight points for Del Sol.

Kayla Skilling paced Pahrump with eight points.

Valley 54, Panguitch (Utah) 45 —
 At Mesquite, Kennedy Wharton had 22 points, and the Vikings busted out to a 33-19 halftime lead on their way to a win over Panguitch in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Gabby Cabanero added 14 points for Valley.

Taylor Bennett led Panguitch with 19 points.

Desert Oasis 39, Valley (Utah) 35 — At Mesquite, Tatiana Kearn led a balanced attack with 10 points as the Diamondbacks downed Valley in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Kyra Milligan paced Valley with 18 points.

Moapa Valley 57, Pahranagat Valley 42 — At Mesquite, Kimberly Lewis had 17 points to guide the Pirates past the Panthers in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Traci Strong scored 20 points, and Bailee Hosier added 12 points for Pahranagat Valley.

Virgin Valley 40, Wells 21 — At Mesquite, Abbie Barnard scored 18 points, and the Bulldogs used a 12-0 third-quarter run to down the Leopards in the Lady Bulldog Invitational.

Emily Pengelly led Wells with eight points.
