ROUNDUP: Savoy sends Chaparral girls past Eagles, into first-place tie

Tichina Savoy scored 20 points Friday to help Chaparral’s girls basketball team pull into a tie for first place in the Sunrise League with a 58-47 win at Boulder City.

Octavia Gray added nine points for the Cowboys, who rallied from a 15-5 first-quarter deficit and matched the Eagles atop the league. Both teams are 8-2 with two league games left.

Whitney Barlow led Boulder City with 22 points, and teammate Mallory Bird scored 10.

Faith Lutheran 51, Mojave 20 — At Faith Lutheran, Taylor Hammer scored 13 points to help the Crusaders secure at least a share of the Sunset League title with a win over the Rattlers.

Julia Benko scored 11 points for Faith Lutheran, and teammate Dani Tharaldson added 10 points.

Rayena Rael and Dennisha Atkins scored seven points apiece to lead Mojave.

Clark 48, Cheyenne 26 — At Clark, Bobbi Floyd had 27 points and 15 rebounds, and the Chargers grabbed a 28-7 halftime lead on their way to an easy win over the Desert Shields.

Ci’Quadya Belser added 11 points and 12 assists for Clark.

Lajuana Brown paced Cheyenne with 12 points.

Bishop Gorman 70, Desert Oasis 25 — At Gorman, April Rivers scored 20 points to help the Gaels roll past the Diamondbacks.

Raychel Stanley added 19 points for Gorman, which led 15-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Savanna Spears led Desert Oasis with eight points.

Centennial 68, Bonanza 35 — At Bonanza, Jada Brown scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a win over the Bengals.

Simone Barber had 11 points to help Centennial, which took control early in the second half.

Tanganika Hunt led Bonanza with 17 points.

Western 34, Pahrump Valley 28 — At Pahrump, Destiny Gonzalez scored all five of her points in the fourth quarter to lift the Warriors over the Trojans.

Capricia Pierce had 13 points to lead Western, which led 19-18 heading into the fourth quarter,

Kayla Skilling led Pahrump with 10 points, and teammate Shayla Dance added six points and 14 rebounds.

Virgin Valley 50, Desert Pines 41 — At Desert Pines, Nikki Arquette had 12 points to lead the Bulldogs past the Jaguars.

Kourtney Metzger and Abbie Barnard each had 11 points for Virgin Valley.

Raven Thomas led Desert Pines with 14 points. Cydney Myles had 13 points, and Chrystian Myles scored 10 for the Jaguars.

Moapa Valley 35, Tech 21 — At Tech, Breanna Harding tallied 12 points to propel the Pirates past the Roadrunners.

Makendie Frei added eight points for Moapa Valley, which led 26-6 after three quarters.

Carla Valle led Tech with seven points.

Needles 51, Agassi Prep 41 — At Agassi Prep, Abby Chandler scored 15 points to help the Mustangs defeat the Stars.

Caitlyn Courtwright added 12 points for Needles, which jumped ahead in the second quarter.

Azaria Conway-Wilson scored 13 points to lead Agassi Prep, which fell short with a late rally.

Laughlin 39, Mountain View 30 — At Laughlin, Cassie Beggs scored 11 points to lift the Cougars over the Saints.

Diana Durazo added nine points for Laughlin, which notched its first league win.

Elle Germany and Rose Adkins scored 10 points apiece to lead Mountain View.

Lincoln County 41, The Meadows 17 — At Panaca, Hannah Hafen had eight points to lead the Lynx by the Mustangs.

Delaney Gosse scored six points for The Meadows.

Tonopah 33, Adelson School 15 — At Tonopah, Ashley Gray scored five points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Muckers past the Lions.

Ale Gibson led Adelson School with five points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
