ROUNDUP: Simpson, Bonanza girls rally late to tame Wildcats

Saniah Simpson scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as Bonanza’s girls basketball team overcame a 10-point deficit with three minutes left to beat Ukiah (Calif.) 55-52 in the Silver State Slam in Reno.

Alyssa Powers had 16 points, and Trane’e Jenkins added 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Bengals. Simpson also had nine rebounds and four steals.

Bonanza 57, Truckee 40 — At Reno, Jenkins had 21 points, eight rebounds and seven steals as the Bengals downed the Wolverines in the Silver State Slam.

Sianna Nelson added 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals, and Tanganika Hunt had 10 points for Bonanza, which used a 36-11 run to erase an early 8-0 deficit.

Eldorado 73, McQueen 71 — At Reno, Denisheun Jackson poured in 35 points to help the Sundevils nip the Lancers in the Silver State Slam.

Allyah Swain added 14 points for Eldorado.

Emma White paced McQueen with 20 points.

Churchill County 40, Durango 33 —
At Reno, Cady Cordes tallied 14 points as the Greenwave held off the Traiblazers in the Silver State Slam.

Maria Rico led Durango with 11 points.

Rocklin (Calif.) 87, Desert Pines 38 — At Reno, the Thunder rolled past the Jaguars in the Silver State Slam.

Cydney Myles had 19 points for Desert Pines.

Bishop Gorman 59, Lou Dantzler (Calif.) 13 — At San Diego, April Rivers tallied 16 points as the Gaels breezed to a win in the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic.

Tonishia Childress added 15 points for Gorman, which led 31-4 at the half.

Legacy 41, Palisades (Calif.) 37 — At Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Tori Payne had 16 points, and Deja Brown scored 11 to help the Longhorns nip Palisades in the West Coast Holiday Festival.

Agoura (Calif.) 42, Legacy 39 — At Norco, Calif., the Chargers edged the Longhorns in the second round of the West Coast Holiday Festival.

Justice Akins had 11 points, and Markeshia Evans had 13 rebounds and 12 blocks for Legacy.

Cimarron-Memorial 65, Summit (Calif.) 63 — At Riverside, Calif., Emily Cox scored 22 points and was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to lead the Spartans by the SkyHawks in the Lady Bear Classic.

Kiana Carter had 13 points, and Chalon Henderson added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Cimarron, which got 11 points from Taya Harper.

Chioma Bush poured in 37 points for Summit.

El Dorado (Calif.) 68, Sierra Vista 20 —
At Anaheim, Calif., Brooke Salas poured in 24 points to help El Dorado rout the Mountain Lions in the quarterfinals of the Lady Rebel Holiday Classic.

Melia Tadytin had seven points for Sierra Vista.
