ROUNDUP: Tso’s free throws lift Desert Oasis girls over Longhorns

Sammi Tso went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line Tuesday, including making four in the fourth quarter, to help Desert Oasis’ girls basketball team hold off visiting Legacy, 49-46.

Tso finished with 24 points, and teammate Tatiana Kearn added 13 points.

Deja Brown scored 22 points to lead the Longhorns, who got 10 points from Tori Payne.

Bishop Gorman 67, Bonanza 26 —
At Bonanza, Tonishia Childress led four double-figure scorers as the Gaels rolled past the Bengals.

April Rivers scored 15 points for Gorman, which also got 12 points from Raychel Stanley and 10 points from Megan Jacobs. The Gaels sprinted to a 21-4 first quarter lead and were up 37-12 at halftime.

Trane’e Jenkins scored nine points for Bonanza.

Western 50, Mojave 24 — At Western, Destiny Gonzalez racked up 18 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four steals as the Warriors routed the Rattlers.

Guadalupe Herrera added 18 points and eight rebounds for Western, which led 36-12 after three quarters.

Jeanette Washington paced Mojave with 10 points.

Boulder City 75, Sunrise Mountain 48 —
At Sunrise Mountain, Alyssa Ybarra scored 26 points to lead the Eagles to an easy win over the Miners.

Avalon Frantz added 20 points for Boulder City, which led 37-16 at halftime.

Brittany Veal compiled 15 points, five steals and four assists for Sunrise Mountain.

Centennial 62, Cimarron-Memorial 21 — At Cimarron, Karina Brandon tallied 14 points, and the Bulldogs outscored the Spartans, 38-6 in the second half to pull away for the win.

Breanna Workman added 12 points, and Tamera Williams scored 11 for Centennial.

Emily Cox led Cimarron with eight points.

Faith Lutheran 52, Cheyenne 33 — At Cheyenne, Sam Leonard scored 14 points to help the Crusaders beat the Desert Shields.

Julia Benko added 13 points, and Taylor Hammer scored 12 for Faith Lutheran, which built a 29-14 lead at halftime.

Bria Buchanan and Lajuana Brown scored six points apiece to lead Cheyenne.

Clark 27, Pahrump Valley 24 — At Pahrump, Cequadva Belsar scored all eight of her points in the second half, helping the Chargers rally past the Trojans. Bobbi Floyd also had eight points for Clark, which trailed 15-11 at half.

Shayla Dance tallied nine points for Pahrump.

Desert Pines 53, Tech 28 — At Tech, Chrystian Myles and Jade Hazelton scored 16 points each as the Jaguars romped past the Roadrunners.

Cydney Myles added 15 points for Desert Pines, which jumped out to a 21-8 first quarter lead.

Carla Valle scored 10 points to lead Tech.

Needles 48, Mountain View 41 — At Mountain View, Caitlyn Courtwright scored 15 points to lead the Mustangs past the Saints.

Abby Chandler and Kayla Hills each scored 12 points to help Needles.

Kiley Murphy scored 16 points, and Rose Adkins had 11 points to lead Mountain View.

Lincoln County 59, Agassi Prep 43 — At Agassi Prep, Jaycee Wadsworth tallied 21 points to lead the Lynx past the Stars.

Kaylee Teel and Kayla Matthews each added 12 points for Lincoln County.

Shannel Andrews had 12 points, and Javoulaee Green scored 10 for Agassi Prep.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
