ROUNDUP: Versatile Walker, Meneses carry Desert Pines to Northeast crown

LaBrea Walker compiled 19 points, 15 assists and seven rebounds to spark Desert Pines’ girls basketball team to a 68-27 victory over visiting Eldorado on Friday to win the Northeast League title.

Claudia Meneses scored 21 points for the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs 51, Rancho 50 — At Canyon Springs, Pearl Paulo scored 11 points, including a go-ahead layup with four seconds to play, and supplied 12 rebounds as the Pioneers edged the Rams.

Rancho trailed 29-22 at halftime, but used a 20-8 edge in the third quarter to take the lead until Paulo’s basket.

Skotasia Thomas added 12 points, and Shante Thomas contributed 11 points and 18 rebounds for Canyon Springs.

Rancho’s Maijah Williams had 13 points and Mariah Coleman added 12 on four 3-pointers.

Las Vegas 50, Sunrise Mountain 37 — At Sunrise Mountain, Shawntovia Luckie scored 19 points to help the Wildcats beat the Miners.

Shomari Harris added 10 points for Las Vegas, which took control early and led 30-20 at halftime.

Tahani Sanders led Sunrise Mountain with 11 points.

Valley 57, Chaparral 42 — At Chaparral, Jessica Walton scored 21 points as the Vikings built on an early 19-9 lead and beat the Cowboys.

Christina Davis added 15 points and Estelle Wilson 13 for Valley.

Chaparral’s Janae Neuville scored 15 and Jacquie Ferguson 14.

Pahrump Valley 49, Spring Valley 38 — At Spring Valley, Alyson Kunzi scored 18 points to help the Trojans defeat the Grizzlies.

Toi Simmons contributed nine points for Pahrump, which led 31-13 before holding off a Spring Valley surge.

Lauren Bugni scored 21 points to lead the Grizzlies.

Bishop Gorman 77, Desert Oasis 39 — At Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 18 points, and Amber Lane and April Rivers had 12 each as the Gaels topped the Diamondbacks.

Tatiana Kearn scored 10 points for Desert Oasis.

Bonanza 59, Sierra Vista 51 — At Sierra Vista, Daytril Beals scored 21 points to help the Bengals stun the Mountain Lions.

Alice Pitts added 18 points for the Bengals, who made 25 of 31 free throws.

Jeanette Jackson had 21 points to pace Sierra Vista.

Western 50, Clark 32 — At Western, Michelle Simon scored 24 points to help the Warriors beat the Chargers.

Ashley Cacho added 11 points for Western, which pulled away from a one-point halftime lead.

Kiara Nesmith led Clark with 11 points, and Michelle Garcia added 10.

Virgin Valley 45, Moapa Valley 43 — At Overton, Rachel Morris scored eight of her 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs edge the Pirates and win the regular-season title in the Class 3A Southern League.

Madison Bowler added 14 points for Virgin Valley.

Shilo Parashonts had 16 points and Caley Dunlap 15 points to lead Moapa Valley.

Henderson International 52, Sandy Valley 13 — At Sandy Valley, Pamela Sakuma scored 11 of her 18 points in the third quarter to lead the Wolverines past the Sidewinders.

Henderson International outscored Sandy Valley 20-3 in the third quarter and 33-4 in the second half.

Tara Carlson led Sandy Valley with eight points.

Round Mountain 42, Trinity 27 — At Round Mountain, Kattrena Akers scored 15 points to help the Knights tame the Thunder.

Carla Chavez supplied 12 rebounds for Round Mountain.

West Wendover 66, Agassi Prep 42 — At West Wendover, Danika Sharp scored 36 points as the Wolverines defeated the Stars.

Kayla Johnson led Agassi Prep with 18 points and Alannah Conway added 16.

White Pine 66, Calvary Chapel 28 — At Ely, Alex Hall scored 20 points to lead the Bobcats to an easy victory over the Lions.

Anna Duerden led Calvary Chapel with 10 points.

Lincoln County 95, The Meadows 28 — At Panaca, Marissa Smerek poured in 32 points as the Lynx beat the Mustangs.

Morgan Christian added 14 points and Melanie Florence 12 for Lincoln County. Mary Culverwell and Tara Tibbitts scored 11 each.

Kimi Sharma led The Meadows with 12 points, and Graceanne Warburton had 10 points.
