ROUNDUP: Wilson, Chaparral girls move into second place in Sunrise League

Unique Wilson scored 16 points Wednesday to help Chaparral’s girls basketball team move into second place in the Division I-A Sunrise League with a 44-27 win over visiting Moapa Valley.

Tichina Savoy added 11 points for Chaparral, which outscored Moapa Valley 27-12 in the second half to pull away. Chaparral is 7-2 in the league, one game behind Boulder City (8-1) with three league games left.

Breanna Harding scored eight points to pace the Pirates.

Centennial 52, Legacy 30 — At Centennial, Jada Brown had 14 points and 12 rebounds to power the Bulldogs past the Longhorns.

Tramina Jordan had 11 points, and Tamera Williams scored 10 for Centennial, which led 13-12 after one quarter and used a 15-4 second-quarter advantage to take control.

Deja Brown had 11 points for Legacy.

Desert Oasis 39, Bonanza 34 — At Desert Oasis, Sammi Tso had 16 points and the Diamondbacks overcame a 12-for-56 effort from the field to nip the Bengals.

Saniah Simpson had 15 points, and Trane’e Jenkins scored 10 for Bonanza.

Bishop Gorman 66, Cimarron-Memorial 35 — At Cimarron, April Rivers led a balanced attack with 19 points as the Gaels cruised past the Spartans.

Tonishia Childress scored 14 points, and Megan Jacobs added 10 points for Gorman, which led 34-17 at halftime and blitzed the Spartans with a 19-4 third-quarter run.

Emily Cox had 15 points for Cimarron, and teammate Chalon Henderson supplied six points and 11 rebounds.

Faith Lutheran 68, Western 30 —
At Western, Julia Benko and Sam Leonard each scored 13 points to help the Crusaders down the Warriors.

Taylor Hammer scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which led 20-4 after one quarter.

Capricia Pierce paced Western with 17 points.

Clark 44, Mojave 27 — At Mojave, Bobbi Floyd and Ci’Quadya Belser each had 15 points to lead the Chargers by the Rattlers.

Rayena Rael led Mojave with 11 points.

Boulder City 51, Tech 34 — At Tech, Alyssa Ybarra and Whitney Barlow each scored 13 points as the Eagles downed the Roadrunners.

Katlyn Daly added 10 points for Boulder City, which led 24-14 at halftime.

Carla Valle scored 16 points to lead Tech.

Desert Pines 52, Sunrise Mountain 44 —
At Sunrise Mountain, Cydney Myles scored 19 points to lead the Jaguars by the Miners.

Chrystian Myles had 12 points, and Raven Thomas added 11 points for Desert Pines.

Jenae Yurek-Carhee led Sunrise Mountain with 18 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Deanna Manning added nine points, 10 rebounds and three steals, and Brittany Veal had nine points and seven steals for the Miners.

Cheyenne 38, Pahrump Valley 17 —
At Cheyenne, Noni Barree scored 11 points as the Desert Shields downed the Trojans.

Amanee Buckins added eight points for Cheyenne, which finished the game on a 13-1 run.

Kayla Skilling led Pahrump with five points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
