Centennial defeated Liberty 74-65 in overtime to win its fourth consecutive girls state title Friday night at Lawlor Events Center in Reno. The Bulldogs trailed by 15 points entering the fourth quarter.

Mojave and Virgin Valley both fell in their Class 3A state girls basketball semifinal games at Reno High School on Friday.
Kendra Mathews scored eight of her 15 points in the fourth quarter Friday, and Lincoln County’s girls basketball team used a game-ending 10-2 run to defeat Battle Mountain, 50-42 in a Class 2A state semifinal at Sparks High.
The Panthers turned the ball over 22 times Friday, including a pair of key turnovers in overtime, as Mineral County earned a 61-57 overtime victory in the Class 1A boys state semifinals at UNR’s Lawlor Events Center.
Karley Whipple led the Panthers with 27 points Friday as Pahranagat Valley defeated Eureka 51-42 in the Class 1A girls state semifinals. Round Mountain fell to Wells, which will play the Panthers in the state title game.
Will McClendon’s 3-pointer with 2:27 to play broke a 62-62 tie, and the Gaels went on to defeat Spanish Springs 75-68 in the Class 4A boys state basketball semifinals at Lawlor Events Center.
The Bulldogs’ girls basketball team received double-digit scoring from four players and rolled over Reno in the Class 4A state semifinals Thursday by a final score of 68-30.
Cort Ballinger and the Miners held Kevin Legardy to just nine points, and Bishop Manogue came away with a 64-58 win over Canyon Springs on Thursday in the Class 4A boys state basketball semifinals at UNR’s Lawlor Events Center.
Dre’una Edwards commanded the first half, scoring 26 of her game-high 28 points, and the Patriots made quick work of McQueen with a 71-33 rout in the state semifinals at Lawlor Events Center.
Bishop Gorman sophomore guard Noah Taitz is a four-star recruit who posts bigger scoring numbers against better competition.

Melanie Isbell scored 20 points, including a back-breaking 3-pointer in the third quarter. She led four double-digit scorers as Centennial cruised to a 75-45 victory over Spring Valley in the Sunset Region title game at Legacy.
Noah Taitz hit four 3-pointers and scored 27 points as Bishop Gorman beat Clark 57-46 at Legacy to claim the Class 4A Sunset Region title.
Canyon Springs squandered a 16-point lead against Coronado, but held off the Cougars and their comeback to clinch a 101-89 home victory on Saturday night, the Class 4A Sunrise Region championship and a berth in Reno to play for the Class 4A state title.
Desert Pines (20-9) claimed its third straight Class 3A Southern Region title with a 66-52 win over Cheyenne (17-10) on Saturday night at Del Sol High School.
