Outlook: New coach Riddle takes over the program after serving as Arbor View’s junior varsity head coach.
He’ll bring the double-wing offense to the Cougars, who were an up-and-down offensive team last season. They averaged 17.7 points, but only 11.2 during Southeast League play.
Tharp is back at quarterback, where a year of experience should help his leadership even if he isn’t called upon to throw the ball much. The 320-pound Danielson should anchor the line and clear space for wingbacks Sedacy, Hartfield and Montez.
Bolin is back to lead the defense after picking off four passes last season.
Even if the Cougars have improved, making the playoffs could be a tall task in a league that includes Liberty, Green Valley, Foothill and Basic.
“Our goal is to be prepared for every game and to compete until the whistle blows,” Riddle said.
