Alipio scores twice as Skyhawks clinch playoff birth

Silverado's Jarrett Alipio rushed for a touchdown and caught a scoring pass Thursday's as the Skyhawks clinched a playoff berth with a 58-0 home win over Rancho.
Alipio rushed for 120 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown run. He hauled in a 54-yard pass for his other score for Silverado (3-5, 2-2 Northeast), which secured fourth place in the division.
Skyhawks quarterback Armani Jones-Sailor connected on just two passes, but both went for touchdowns. He also connected with Rohan Walters for a 74-yard score on Silverado’s first offensive play.
Alek Aragon had an 80-yard touchdown run for the Skyhawks, who outgained the Rams 497-137.
John Hernandez had three interceptions for the Silverado defense, which came up with eight turnovers.
Angel Alvarez had 110 yards receiving for Rancho (0-8, 0-4).
