Avery’s 108-yard interception return highlighs Lynx win

Lincoln County's Preston Avery ended the first half with a 108-yard interception return for a touchdown on Friday, highlighting the Lynx (6-1, 6-0 Division III Southern) 58-12 victory over visiting Calvary Chapel (3-3, 3-2).

The interception return is believed to be a state record.

Lincoln County’s Derek Cheeney supplied a 92-yard interception return for a TD, rushed for 50 yards and a TD, and caught three passes for 65 yards and a TD.

Colton Johnson gained 72 yards on eight carries, helping Lincoln County roll up 334 yards on the ground.

Lynx quarterback Ryan Rippetoe passed for 90 yards and two TDs.

Calvary Chapel’s TDs came on a run by A.J. Davis and a pass from Riley Clark to Chris Basilio.
